I too am at a loss for words.

However, I know for sure that he is up in the place above rather than that one below. Because I agreed with every single thing he posted!

Though I didn't know him, I'm glad I knew him.

Sad news. He was one of the ever decreasing few who have walked the walk on these pages.

I seized up inside when I read the thread title. He was one of my favorites here.

Gentlemen,
now he's gone - could those of you who knew Con-Pilot tell us his real name and a little about him?
Does anyone know what how he came to use his nickname? Convair-pilot, Constellation pilot can't be right...?
I haven't been a member as long as many of you, but often read his posts and traded a few with him... a shame.

Not much of a contributor myself but I do drop by from time to time to see what Con along with others is posting. Quite disturbing that I dropped in this evening and find this news.

Does anyone know what how he came to use his nickname?
He flew aircraft for Jpats/US Marshals Service moving prisoners ie Convicts.

He will be missed

Appreciated his comments and not too long ago exchanged a few PM's as a result. Sad loss, too young. Farewell.

He had a full life and a very interesting flying career, so that his death is not tragic but just the natural end to a rewarding and relatively long life, one we can admire as pilots.

He once came across with an offer of help to me, someone he had never met except through correspondence, so that I thought of him as "one of the good guys," yes, a genuinely nice guy.

Perhaps the Mods can post his name and address, if that's okay with his survivors, since I am sure that many of us might like to send a card.

First of all, I'd like to say I'm sorry that I posted a less than nice response to tartare. I'm still reeling from the news and upon rereading it, I was embarrassed by my insensitivity. Please forgive and I've since deleted it.

As for an address, etc... I've reached out to his widow and asked if she'd be okay with sharing her address. Will post here if she obliges.

Peace to all.

Here's something to remember him by as an airman:

AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT
Ratings:
AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT
AIRPLANE MULTIENGINE LAND
COMMERCIAL PRIVILEGES
AIRPLANE SINGLE ENGINE LAND

Type Ratings:
A/B-727 A/CE-500 A/DA-50 A/DC-3 A/IA-JET
A/LR-JET A/N-265

FLIGHT ENGINEER
Ratings:
FLIGHT ENGINEER
TURBOJET POWERED

We had a lot of fun here once with this guy who claimed to be a Leer Jet (sic) pilot, when he wanted to prove on behalf of Nancy Pelosi that a Boeing 757 burned less fuel than a Gulfstream.

Rest in Peace, dear Con pilot! I had just sent a PM to him, wondering where he was. A very fine gentleman. He leaves us with many fond memories. He sure could tell a story!

Love to your family, they were very blessed.

One of the funniest stories ever written on PPRuNe was con's tale of hanging the Christmas lights on his house. First time I read it, I laughed til I hurt.

2016 hasn't been a good year for PPRuNe with the loss of so many
characters who added grace and character to these pages.
His posts will be greatly missed by myself and many, many others.

Likewise, very sorry to hear this sad news. I always found him to be a wise and fair commentator and one whose contribution enriched these boards.

RIP.

Very saddened to hear the news, I enjoyed reading his many contributions both here and over in History and Nostalgia.

I trust that whatever the hereafter is, for Con-Pilot it will be sprout free.

RIP.
