At the summer rate of $1, I think they are pissed off when it's the only thing I buy.
In NZ, MacD. coffee is free for Those Of A Certain Age - I REALLY p*ss them off !! ( My original Loyalty card, which they still honour, is not dependant upon a pre-purchase tho' they caught on to that one and current ones now are - I should worry. )

Morning shipmates.
Grey is still le couleur du jour but the guessers have promised a
guest appearance from Mr Sun 'ere the day is done.

Mrs HF is still abed coughing and spluttering and apparently
wishing she had passed away in the night. I thought of pointing
out the the "man" version is several degrees worse but refrained.

Today is Saturday.

Good morning all. Dull and overcast here. Had a wonderful afternoon with my daughter and granddaughter yesterday. Really enjoyed it, she is so cute. Only second time I have seen her.
Final slog cleaning the house today. Had a chat with Gina last night she said the 3 big bosses are vying for position as to who will really be in charge.

No trainers, jeans or T-shirts in sight and door-step butties instead of burgers

Grand pair of beuts there on the right.

Some of the less well-off boys in my primary school wore beuts all the time - I guess that they were more durable than school shoes?

Afternoon, all, on our return from sunny Ontario. Ironic that I posted just before leaving about missing luggage. No, we didn't lose it, but Manchester did their best to achieve this.
As we left the aircraft, the Purser announced: Carousel 2. After waiting for 15 minutes someone saw that Toronto stuff was coming down C.1. Orderly stampede. After another 15 mins, none of the priority stuff had appeared. Nothing better to do, went to the loo, leaving 'erindoors in charge. Passing Car. 5 on the way back, saw a familiar case. And the other. I was all right.
At that time, could have just dun a bunk, but decided to be kind, and hollered that I'd just retrieved our stuff from 5.
That was, I'm delighted to announce, the only bad bit of the whole eight days away.

Carry on, please.

Here's a piccie of me canal project. After all the digging, knocking down walls, getting covered in clarts, drinking tea, etc, the off-side of the lock is ready and waiting for the concrete base to be poured - hopefully this week!

Looks like they're there as weights to hold that mesh down, G-CPTN.

Looks impressive 4mastacker.
A lot of work has gone into that.
Good luck with the pour.

Up at crack of sparrow's this morning for no good reason.
It certainly isn't for the weather which is grey and overcast.
However the forecast is for buckets of sunshine later -hopefully delivered by Mr Sun and not some outside agency.

Nosebag time

G-CPTN,

Bluey is in the right area.

The bricks are supporting two layers of re-inforcing mesh for the support base which will be 12 inches thick after the concrete has been poured. That base then has to support block wall bays infilled with more concrete to a height of approximately 14-15 feet. On the lock-side of the block wall, there will be two courses of facing bricks tied into the block wall. The first couple of layers of facing bricks have already been laid and at each end you can see where the new bricks have been tied into the original brickwork.

Today is a day of rest for me aching body. Copius amounts of tea shall be consumed.
