I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could

Easy. I had an email from HMRC last night - log in to read. Needed to verify NI number, easy. Email address was 20 years old but they had used my current email to contact me! Then they would send a confirmation to my telephone; that was 2 years out of date. Eventually got in. It was the same message they sent by mail a month ago.

Watch stops, needs new battery.
Drive to watch-mending shop, park car.
Parking meter has ten minutes left.
Automatically look at bare wrist to work out when meter will expire.

I have a good memory, but it's short.

I have a phone. Use it mostly to check the time. The stopwatch. The countdown timer. Check the time in SYD.

Fixed our grandfather clock last week, most chuffed. Now it bothers me it doesn't keep very good time. It's irrelevant and of no matter but it preys on the mind. I'll probably break it trying to fix it.

Are you optimistic that you'll break it?

Last time I had the Grandfather clock "seen to" it took me about 3 months of continually screwing and unscrewing the knob on the bottom of the pendulum shaft about 1/2 turn each way all the time, until it gave up and decided to keep perfect time to stop me fiddling about with it.

It will probably only take a minute adjustment.

Acts of God were not covered by the policy. The lawyers will come in two-by-two.

Ordered in 48 bottles of booze. Mum, my Uncle and his partner are visiting next week. I didn't want to run out.
