Spring is springing here,
The trees are bursting to leaf,
There's still a nip in the air,
And much chattering of the teeth.

Spring has well sprung here, bit of a morning nip, to the air but the year-round sea swimming lunatics are in their element, ploughing up and down off the beach, like a fleet of mini-corvettes on line abreast mine sweeping duty.

April will need to pass before I venture in for a quick skim across the briny.

Revolutions for 35 knots!

A bout of snow occurred, we hope the final of the season... indeed predicted to be warmer next week but in the mountains one never really knows.

Meanwhile the early bloomers among the cherry and peach trees have started to show their colors.

Steady on.

Woods around here are now carpeted in green courtesy of the bluebells; the blue flecks of the early developers are appearing slowly, the harbinger of true spring. Avine social media is very active (tweets ).

On my third coffee in the Selsdon Wetherspoons ahead of part two of today's walk - through more of the local woodland. Bit nippy out earlier though. Reluctant to leave as it's very pleasant sitting in the conservatory listening to the quiet buzz of conversation; even the young children present are being beautifully behaved and adding to the atmosphere rather than spoiling it. 😊

edit: Now several miles into walk part 2 and just heard a Spitfire launching from Biggin Hill. With luck I'll hear it return before I'm out of earshot .

That is not even a strange story for Florida... I think they get a little too much sunshine down there.

Mrs.' MiO (Pajero Pinin) dropped the rear muffler while she was coming home around 9 last night. The P. and I had to don our capes and tights, to the kei truck! and mount a rescue, which was accomplished temporarily with some bailing wire.

Dawn inspection revealed a rear muffler mounting bracket let go, causing the center pipe to shat the rear flange. Sunday, parts most likely two~three days out. Gonna need both center and rear sections for a proper repair. Removed the muffler, cut off the welded nuts and was able to get the bolts out and salvage the CP flange. Welded a short piece of Hilux exhaust left over from a previous project on my truck (it is about perfect ID to OD) onto the flange then clamped the CP and repair together, welded the broken bracket Responsible and bolted 'er up.

She'll hold C'pn... steady on.

String to untangle.
Remains of last years onion stalks to compost.
Sisal shall be recycled and used again.
Waste is frowned upon.

Like your posts, LG,
They read like Haiku poems,
Short and to the point.

Some technical advice. freely offered now those useful public service tele adverts no longer grace our screens....due to the saturation of inane adverts requiring the viewer to have no measurable IQ

Percussive engineering is a well established rectification technique on aircraft......percussive engineering does not work on IT mouses.

Thank you .

The insomnia fairy - spurred on by a dose of sausage casserole driven indigestion - is on duty this evening.

Statistics ......a bit rash at times.

But now we know how to live longer ! ..until the next "eating / drinking scientific study of everything possible to eat and drink is going to kill you " emerges

On this morning's Today programme, a scientist involved with the study repeated the statistics about stuff such as bacon increasing your chances of getting bowel cancer. She then went on to say how important it was to ensure a regular intake of fibre in our diets as fibre reduces the risk of bowel cancer. So, a bacon butty is the original 'balanced diet' then, with half the ingredients bad and the other half good?

Many years ago (1970s) the 'Midlands' motor industry used to close for Good Friday (as well as Easter Monday).

When I lived in Yorkshire, some time ago, (35+ years), the what was the West Riding, used to work Good Friday and have Easter Tuesday off. Also when I was a lad, I remember newspapers weren't for sale on Good Friday, so had a day off as a paper boy
