Time I looked in to this thread - my attention's been on the Kilauea eruption lately, and I see it might be raining down little gemstones, according to this article: https://www.sciencealert.com/hawaii-...cent-eruptions
Otherwise, one has hardly seen the sun due to overcast skies and short days; it hasn't been particularly cold, but I would enjoy seeing Mr Sun again.
My lemons appear to be ripening on the little tree.
Hope all are well who read here.

Thanks, RbG.
Perhaps a trip to Hawaii might be in order? Peridot are the prettiest gemstones and I wouldn't mind starting a collection.
Can we put you in charge of the organisation committee, Karearea ... as a thank you for alerting us to this.

Bluey, Some of us disappeared for a while because we were sent missives from the Mods that our presence was unwanted because we were boring old farts. When I ventured to return I found many of the old friends had disappeared like me, only they have not seen fit to return.

Yes I remember that, Blackie and I thought that was very rude of the mods. Since when has there been an age requirement to contribute to threads here? Boring old farts indeed ... whatever happened to the significance of experience and wisdom? Besides, I'm sure we can all be as boring as bat sh!t now and then so why some were picked on and not others I just don't know. I still hope that more of our old friends will return though.

The (free) PU to which I was invited this evening has been cancelled due to high winds (the venue is in marquee) so I will have to seek alternative entertainment (and sustenance).
Boogagh . . .
Double decker buses haven't been crossing the bridge over the river into our village due to the strong winds of Storm Hector and the streets are littered with tree branches.

Thanks for the hint. A quick search revealed where it is, and it seems that our departed friend with the penchant for mammaries is alive and kicking over there too, along with a lot of "lost" members from here.

We have just been sent a couple of photos of our soon to be 3 year old great grand daughter. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry
as she is pictured in a eating establishment with a phone propped up in front of her. She is avidly watching something on it as she
attempts to consume food.

Missing peeps
Bluey, you are so right! I well remember confusing the gender of a certain Australian lady and being severely castigated by the assembled throng. It was those sort of little things that people picked up on and managed to generate many, many pages of gibberish!
To keep things boring and pointless, I became a grand-dad a few weeks ago. Amazing! I'm surprised to have made it thus far and delighted that the Fair line lives on . . . .
Anyone seen Angels lately? I'm thinking of revisiting the trees that were planted in rememberance of Gainsey. Now there is a name to conjure with!! Wholi, Jude, Baron and I were at his funeral. Opening hymn/number from the organist? "The Great Escape" You can imagine our faces. A few beers were had and then a few more. We also had a few more after that.
Pip Pip!!

A couple of times I have had the following message pop up when I have tried to go back to a page, anyone know what it means please??
Prefetching is not allowed due to the various privacy issues that arise.
( If I start on say the last page of a thread call it page 10, go back to the previous - page 9 and then try to go to page 10 again. )

This thread, along with a few former participants, IS alive and well, elsewhere.

Bluey - I can think of nothing nicer than to go peridot-hunting in Hawaii, but my supply of tinfoil and asbestos may be a bit lacking for the task!
