Condolences Blacksheep. I can understand your sadness - same happened to junior daughter's dog just a week ago.

Oh Blackie that is so sad for you. One day you will be able to remember him with a smile rather than a bucket of tears so just let that happen in its own time. Thoughts your way.

So sad Blacksheep. Try and take some comfort that the end was quick and
without much distress.

Clear this morning and 8C (5C with the wind). Forecast is for an ok day.
The Aga is due to be serviced today, so it's switched off and the kitchen in
which we live most of the time was a trifle chilly this morning when I got up.
Auxiliary heating now on and all is cosy once more.

Some memories of a rural past

That's a lovely turn of phrase to describe the way pets enrich our lives.

Pablo was a lucky dog to have you and your family as his pack, Mr B.

Me too, Blacksheep. We lost our hound over two years ago, and I STILL miss hearing the solid thump of his tail in the morning when he heard me awake and stirring. A lot!

Bliddy IF has descended on one's abode. Was hoping for a decent shut-eye tonight as I'm out on me canal in the morning. Some one else will have to drive the boat if I'm too kernackered.

Awake after a coupl'a hours of sleep. Forgot to put the bliddy bin out last night so have had to do it now; binmen are usually here by 7.35. If we miss them, it's another fortnight before they come back.

Bacon sarnie and mug of tea for breakfast, and as it's FRIDAY, I will have a second mug before I depart for the open seas me canal.

Get the IF to do it as penance for keeping you awake.

We have alternate bin collections - wet rubbish/glass one week, recyclables/garden the next. It's reasonably common for me to forget a couple of weeks running, and so have four weeks between a particular collection - but we generate very little rubbish and so don't find that a problem.
