Several of you here will know of the problems that my son and the rest of my family have had over contact with his two children, which has been going on for a long time. It has been very upsetting.
My son finally got a hearing and an order for the way forward as regards contact with his children at the High Court in mid January. Today, nearly four years after we last saw or spoke to our grandchildren, Mrs IB and I have had a Skype video call with them.
Quite emotional.
Thank you to all that have supported us to get this far on this journey. We know it is not over, but we have a start.

Calling the mods!
Has anyone else had a dodgy-looking email purporting to come from a PPRuNe member lovepth1. The email had a PPRuNe message link http://www.pprune.org/sendmessage.ph...ember&u=454800

Oh dear, been absent for a few days and what do I find on my return? Mayhem.
Good to note that we are returning to normal, welcome back, Master Drapes and Mme Juud, you surely have been missed!
I cannot envision the FSL attempting to command this vessel via an iPhone.

Drapes getting forcibly dragged into the i-Universe by his hospital stint?

Herr Hopper

Woke up because me nose were cold.
Wide open window and an unexpected -12C/10F will do that.
Both stoves now glowing and burning cleanly here.
Unlike one down in the village.
Hope it's wet wood rather than a chimney fire.

If woke up at -12 deg I'd surely have caught more than just a cold nose...
On Nigerian love letters, isn't it amazing how this 'concept' has been around for over 25 years now? I remember receiving one in paper form, in pre-internet times... One must be getting old...

Morning all.
A crisp, frosty, blue sky day. -2C
-12C is too much for a sleeping nose Juud.
Gouty wrist is still aching but bearable.
I got up at about 0400 for a cup of tea and hoiked the thermostat up
so all is nice and cosy in Handsfree Towers.
I did want to get out into the garden today but if it doesn't get into
positive temperatures I'm not playing.

Badly Behaved Birds
No, it's not what you might think...
Wondered why my lawn looks like a Napoleonic battlefield this morning and gazed with some suspicion at the dog. Had she managed to unlock the front door during the night and have a rave session with the midnight bunnies? Turns out it's the blackbirds digging out the leatherjacket grubs and not being too particular about replacing the turf.
I usually have a coffee in the kitchen and watch the little birds on the hanging feeders before going out to the garden once it's light. There have been some beautiful bullfinches and long-tailed tits lately. Today, nada. Spotted the culprit after a while: a naughty robin chasing the other birds off, under the impression that several kilos of bird seed and peanuts were all for him. Might have to go out and issue him with a RASBO unless he learns to play nicely.
