Welcome back Mr D. I suspect that you have hundreds of P.M.'s to wade through but you can ignore my two. There that will probably save you a second or two

Calling the mods!
Has anyone else had a dodgy-looking email purporting to come from a PPRuNe member lovepth1. The email had a PPRuNe message link http://www.pprune.org/sendmessage.ph...ember&u=454800

You have a hadone, Wodrick? There are ways and means to make them go away.

Yayyy!! The Captain is back!!! Well, sort of anyway, but that's good enough for now.

Ibbie ... that is the most wonderful news and I'm sure we all hope things get even better from here.

Oh dear, been absent for a few days and what do I find on my return? Mayhem.

Good to note that we are returning to normal, welcome back, Master Drapes and Mme Juud, you surely have been missed!

I cannot envision the FSL attempting to command this vessel via an iPhone.

Yes, welcome back Drapes. You have been missed in many places.

Still, you could be like me and have a love letter from Nigeria to respond to courtesy of PPRuNe e-mail security weaknesses!

Drapes getting forcibly dragged into the i-Universe by his hospital stint?

Herr Hopper glad to see you too.

Woke up because me nose were cold.

Wide open window and an unexpected -12C/10F will do that.

Both stoves now glowing and burning cleanly here.

Unlike one down in the village.

Hope it's wet wood rather than a chimney fire.

If woke up at -12 deg I'd surely have caught more than just a cold nose...

On Nigerian love letters, isn't it amazing how this 'concept' has been around for over 25 years now? I remember receiving one in paper form, in pre-internet times... One must be getting old...

Morning all.
A crisp, frosty, blue sky day. -2C
-12C is too much for a sleeping nose Juud.

Gouty wrist is still aching but bearable.
I got up at about 0400 for a cup of tea and hoiked the thermostat up
so all is nice and cosy in Handsfree Towers.

I did want to get out into the garden today but if it doesn't get into
positive temperatures I'm not playing.

Badly Behaved Birds

No, it's not what you might think...

Wondered why my lawn looks like a Napoleonic battlefield this morning and gazed with some suspicion at the dog. Had she managed to unlock the front door during the night and have a rave session with the midnight bunnies? Turns out it's the blackbirds digging out the leatherjacket grubs and not being too particular about replacing the turf.

I usually have a coffee in the kitchen and watch the little birds on the hanging feeders before going out to the garden once it's light. There have been some beautiful bullfinches and long-tailed tits lately. Today, nada. Spotted the culprit after a while: a naughty robin chasing the other birds off, under the impression that several kilos of bird seed and peanuts were all for him. Might have to go out and issue him with a RASBO unless he learns to play nicely.

Mine looks similar RBG, but in my case it's self inflicted with a lawn mower, having finally given in to Senior Management's insistence that the grass needed cutting. When the council have emptied the green bin currently full of gently fermenting wet hay (in ten days time) I shall scarify the grass and refill the bin, and no doubt several black bags as well, and make what's left look even worse for a time.

Hehehehe ... you could end up with a "round robin" there, RbG. It could have some trouble achieving take-off velocity and end up big enough for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records!!
