After building his wall, that Hadrian bloke must have branched out into retail, cos there was one of his shops in Walker- sold bacon, eggs, cheese, and loose biscuits from big, serve-yersel boxes with see-through lids.

We had a Hadrian close by us in Wallsend too, but by the time you got there you were nearly at the Co-Op, so it wasn't worth going in there (so said my Mam, who knew the price of everything, everywhere).

We had large lumps of the Wall just outside our front dooe and we sprogs used to play on, around and under them. Then the council dug them up and moved them.

Do people still stick to doing their washing on a Monday ?
Doubtful.

Clear overhead and +11C.

Burns' Night tonight.
The haggi will be quivering in their burrows.

Morning peeps dull and the ground is damp, more to come apparently.
Some Sperm Whales washed up on the beech somewhere in the north, didn't know those critters frequented the North Sea,I never saw any and spent much time bobbing about that bit of water.

Cos it would be difficult for them to wash up on hills, fields or motorways o' course

I thought it was because they were too big to fit in the kitchen.

Just checkin in -

as me post says, just checkin in. The jungle drums have been saying there were many odd things happening to post these days so feel the need to test 'em.

In any case, all is fairly well at the Texas Towers. Carry On, Higgens . . . .

Hi Lon, well I can post them elsewhere but not on here.

If, as I strongly suspect, I am not wanted then fine I will go away quietly like so many others have done but unlike them I won't try and go
where they have gone. I was there once but it was made very plain to some that they were not wanted and were in fact asked to leave
and the quicker the better as that place is for ex-military people only. Mere civilians seem to be viewed as lessor mortals and rather a nuisance, I quote one of the requests. "I look forward to your final goodbye, and hope it's soon".

I decided there and then that Life is far too short to waste time on a mere internet website where one is not really wanted by a clique. I always aim to try and make people happy so if my leaving is a means to that end then I have achieved my aim.

Had a helpful message from a Mod and it looks like it is a snag at my end after all I shall have a try in a while

My message about that other website still stands though.

The shepherds have a lot to worry about this morning.
I don't think I've ever seen such a red sky.

Off to the wetness that is Stalybridge and maintenance duties at the
aged mater's. Another bulb has gone.
