Bin oot with daughter and grandchildren shopping. Also had something I've not had for years, a Coke float.

Don't know where your man has got his temps from Wodrick, but just checked and it's 32c across this side.

Memsahib and No1 daughter have just returned from a weekend in the big city looking for a wedding dress for said daughter. Seems my idea and their idea of not costing a fortune are widely different, but no guessing on who's idea will win.

Ibbie, he gets his guess from the AEMET web site, and he gets his actual from a Lidl diigital outdoor thermometer which is in a very sheltered location in our 'courtyard' where the sun will never shine on it.
It's at a high for the day, 28.9c at the moment.
Bet it's warmer in Botswana but it doesn't look like we get to know.

Afternoon. Dull and overcast again. Nice morning though.

UpaCreak, you chose your monicker well it seems.

For many reasons, I really like the Netherlands. Could certainly do with an uijsmeiter (sp) ham or it's ilk right now. Knackered after ferrying drunks around SE London and north Kent last night. This not drinking thing means I am a part (full?) time cab driver when it comes to piss-ups. Still, the daughter is only 18 once.

I flew back from Hong Kong to marry the trouble. One of my mates bought us a huge wok which would have taken up my airline baggage allowance had I flown back with it. He had not considered the coals to Newcastle element of his gift!

I thought Herr Drapper this is the case since the strike in the 80's when the then prime minister used imports via the smallest ports not controlled by the unions supporting the strikers.

Where are all the so called pundit fuels getting their "well done Berties" from? They should have had two men sent off and Chelski had a good goal disallowed for offside.

Having said that Chelski were also poor today. A lucky three points for the Bitters! They won't always come up against such poorly performing opponents with incompetent officials in charge in the majority of the rest of the games this season. Mid table performances from both teams in blue today and "XXX" rated for the Men in Black.

The PGOA needs a thorough overall now, as these officials were not the only poor performers over the weekend. The earlier match today, Palace v Arsenal for instance, which Arsenal won, should have seen the winners finish with 10 men. Continuous fouling and thuggery cannot be seen to pay dividends.

think that was the Melk Weg (Sp ?) or Milky Way, or perhaps the Paradiso,
Both still going strong, but neither is opposite the Rijsmuseum. Can't think what that is.

Hoping to see Steve Earle in de Melkweg in October

It was off side see the replay. As for two men sent off, what about Costa's diving??

A lucky three points for the Bitters!
Bit like painting the kettle black from your teams performances.

Bitter as normal.

Nice roast chicken tonight.

Talking of chicken I have one roasting as we speak. It was on sale in one of the local COOPs at a nicely reduced price as it was labelled "Use by 17th August" It will last me quite a while.

Was about to type that me and Mrs CP saw Blur at the Paradiso in the mid 90s, but the wonders of Google I can tell you it was Mar 22nd 1996. Technically it could have been the 23rd as I don't think they came on until after midnight. Good show despite (or because) Damon was half cut due to the 23rd being his birthday. Paradiso is a converted church if I remember rightly.

Well both the Paradiso and the Melkweg are close to the Rijksmuseum but the Paradiso is the closer of the two.

We spent the afternoon and evening wandering around the China Town area which was hosting "pop up " opera singers. They were obviously professionals and excellent.
Ended the evening with a very enjoyable Vietnamese meal.

My feet are throbbing after clocking up another 18km on them today.
Back home to Blighty tomorrow.

Morning folks.

Moving towards that cooler, sunny, pleasant time of year now. Air con only needed to remove the accumulated humidity of the day from bedroom for an hour last night.

When you get to EMA, please give two more of my shirts a push onto the yellow and red flying machine,if you wouldn't mind.

There I was just making constructive remarks about yesterdays football matches and the poor standard of referees. What do I get ,dissent!

UpaCreak - As a wedding dress only gets worn once a lot of girls hire them these days, I'm told, means they get a much better quality dress to wear than they could possibly afford. If they do buy an expensive one it should help the retail value when daughter agrees to sell it!
