Come along Mr Trump. This diplomacy thing is not bloody rocket science!

Well he is following in illustrious footsteps....

Trumpet's Tower Security Costs

From the budget:

The request is for $25.7 million in security-related expenses at Trump Tower, including "personnel travel costs assigned to the protective details for the children and grandchildren of President Trump, as well as other functions supporting these details." Those services, the request said, will be maintained "throughout the incumbent's presidency."
This is outrageous. Wife and important kids suppose to be in Washington. For the other two sons and daughter this should be cut to $2k to reflect their true values to society. This money should go to plus up Meals on Wheels where it would pay for something like 3.7 million meals or school lunches he is cutting.

Trump is raping the taxpayers while his supporters are happy to believe he is for the little guy as he destroys them.

Picture = thousand words.
Which incidentally massively exceeds Trump's 140 character limit.
I reiterate my earlier comments - the man's an international embarrassment to a great nation.

Reporter account verified by an unimpeachable source (in some minds, not mine) a Fox News crew. Candidate already charged.

Seems to me that Obama and Clinton parroted the usual platitudes at Yad Vashem. Nothing new there. Just there to get the photo op.

Trump on the other hand pointed out that he was surrounded during his visit by people who considered him (and by implication, his nation) friendly to their cause.

Yad Vashem speaks for itself. Nothing at all wrong with what he wrote.

Think that when the sums are all done you will find that Mrs Obama was the most expensive First Lady that the USA has had in some time.

An unidentified source I'm sure. It's good folks in Montana, an accusation of a reporter beat down might be a feather in his cap.

What is it with the US security services and leaks?

Forget Trump, what ever he has leaked has at least been legal - he is allowed too, even if unwise. Forget the massive leaks by the security services about Trump, probably treasonous, undoubtedly illegal, but an internal US matter.

But for two days in a row the US security services have leaked information supplied by the UK concerning the Manchester bombing direct to the press. Not only was it not their's to pass on and in breach of an international agreement, but it has also risked the capture of those responsible for the murder of children but also increased the possibility that others will escape and that further massacres will occur.

Further, the UK has now halted the supply of any further inteligence information to the US security services until an explanation is provided - and the incidents risk further Nd perhaps further restrictions on the exchange of data which will place American lives at risk.

I would suggest the leaking sources be identified and immediately charged under the appropriate laws and thrown in gaol for lengthy periods - and that a profound apology is provided.

The Prime Minister is reported to be raising the matter with the President when they meet today. I would expect their views of the loyalty and professionalism of the US security services to remarkably similar.

ORAC, the American DoD and Intel organs have been utterly unable to keep their mouths shut since a few years after the fall of the Berlin Wall. A few selected points: over glorification of the "Smart Weapons" and later armed drones by USAF, the over selling of the SEALS as some kind of comic book warrior heroes by the USN, NSA becoming a public "super spy" meme, and the CIA can't keep themselves out of the papers because they too can't keep their mouths shut. I trace some of this back to the great "roles and missions" tangle in the early 90's when the defense budget was getting serious reductions, and various organs of the services were running amok selling why their particular place in the world was the greatest or best or must not be cut. It's been a quarter of a century of blather. The 24/7 news/noise cycle simply amplifies it. People can't keep their mouths shut and have forgotten how much of a virtue it can be to do so.

ORAC,

I agree with everything you said....well pretty much anyway.

Isn't it a crying shame that our Intelligence Community (if actually guilty of what is said) has come to this level of mendacity. If the UK has in fact terminated all sharing of Intelligence Data pending a proven stop to the leaking.....then I say God Bless'em!

Many of us have been ranting about the Leaks, got abused for doing so, and now when the pain is felt on that side of the Pond.....we begin to get an Amen Chorus....finally!

The issue is not what gets leaked....that really is immaterial....what matters is the LEAKING itself.

It is high time for there to be a house cleaning and transfers from government employ to government housing in Max Security Prisons for every one of the Leakers if they hold Security Clearances and abuse their position of trust....no matter who they are or what they leaked.

Private Manning was sentenced to 35-38 Years for his Crimes....and sounds like a good starting point for all these current Leakers.

I've got an idea: let's start with Carter's compromise of stealth during a press conference (late 70's). No credit for time served. Then let's find the genius who gave Manning access and reserve a cell.

There was a sea-change in the nature of secure information once again, brought about by Watergate. Mark Felt was eventually unmasked as the liberal FBI informant providing classified info to reporters, and was not only not punished for it(he was old, and dying), but was celebrated. From then forward it's been one of those unwritten rules of the intel services: 'Never give classified info to outside sources' actually means 'give classified info to outside sources only when it advances a liberal agenda'. So, we have career intel 'crats leaking constantly. Look at the direction of the leaks to see who's doing it. Which party or group are being targeted?

Very sad, and it could be stopped with some investigation, but no one in DC seems to have the stones to do it. We had a promise of 'drain the swamp' but so far, it's been pretty empty. Maybe this dust-up with the UK intel services will get some intel people put in prison for a while. Maybe not....

edited to correct Watergate leaker.

It was Mark Felt. General Mark Clark was no way involved.
