vapilot,

Whoa, big boy! If Flynn was acting as a private citizen, which appears to be the case, a wiretap would require a FISA warrant from the court. If the Russian embassy was being surveilled as routine, any conversation of a US citizen heard without the warrant should have been suppressed. In either case, the fruit of the wiretap could NOT be released leagally thru a leak.. The leaker should be found and indicted, if anyone is.

What we have here is the IC and the media trying to undermine a legitimately elected government.

Its time to grab a spot on the couch and get some popcorn, this is going to get interesting.

Trump and Flynn and several other key players in the Bannon administration have demonstrated a commitment to going off script, to ignoring the rules as written by the deep state. A big part of this departure is the effort to cozy up to Russia.

The rebels just got a warning shot across the bow from those that sign the checks and as Kennedy found out, this can be a big mistake.

Let the games begin.

GF, so predictable. You must have your president's twitter on blast at home:

The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington? Will these leaks be happening as I deal on N.Korea etc?
Or perhaps Faux News:
Lawmakers Eye Illegal Leaks

It's interesting Trump mentions security concerns when his handling of the nuclear missile threat by NK was on full display between the iceberg lettuce wedge (what no kale?) and the palate cleansing aspic at TrumPus' Mal a Lago (bad lake) dining room. Also, in another irony in the world of alternative facts, the juiciest leaks out of Washington these days are coming from Trump's own White House staff - where their incompetence, pettiness, and horse hockey, bush league tactics have been exposed.

Leaks exposing corruption and lies...Depends on your priorities, I suppose. Presidential campaign staff and top member of the highest group focused on US Security, the National Security Advisor, in touch with a sworn enemy of the United States, outside of normal channels, and caught lying about it, or the whistleblowing leaks by patriots that are leading the way to the investigation thereof.

What we have here is the IC and the media trying to undermine a(n) illegitimately elected government.
Fixed that for ya. To wit:

... and meanwhile:

Washington: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Republican) said Tuesday it's "highly likely" the Senate intelligence committee will investigate former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's discussions with the Russian ambassador.

"I think the fundamental question for us is what is our involvement in it, and who ought to look at it," the Kentucky Republican said. "And the intelligence committee is already looking at Russian involvement in our election. As Sen. (Roy) Blunt (Republican) has already indicated, it is highly likely they will want to take look at this episode as well. They have the broad jurisdiction to do it."

Marcus Tullius Cicero

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

Why illegimate? They didn't win the election under the Constitutional rules? That's fake news, right there, vapilot2004.

Oicur12,

The "deep state" needs to go and government accountable to the voters, not the government accountable to the deep state. It's the "deep state" that crested do many government malfunctions. Heck, they even killed JFK and ousted Nixon. How's that for conspiracy theory?

VAP,

I have a hard time with your pure hatred towards the current administration. To "fix" a statement as you did above implies that all of our elections up to now have been illegitimate, as each and every one has been governed by the same rules.
I have no dog in this fight, however your fixation with Hillary's loss would tend to make one wonder what did the result cost you, influence, stature, money?
The only times I have seen invective such as yours, at least one of the three has been the reason.

The only person that can make one mad is looking back in the mirror.

I am genuinely curious where such abject hatred stems from.

Some food for thought in this article.....VAP can stand fast....as what it has to say very much challenges his World View (heck....commonsense and reality each do that to him).

Many Years ago we had the Left all in an up roar when they thought Nixon was using the IRS and other Federal Agencies to go after people on his "Enemies List". Under Clinton, the White House had the FBI send over Background Investigation Files on several hundred people and that caused a major flap. The Obama Administration certainly used the politics of personal destruction in its operations.

What makes this different is that it is an inside job going on that could very well be designed to take down a legally elected government or at least disrupt it and undermine its ability to pursue its Agenda of Reform and Change to the way our Government does business.

The accusation that the Mafia did in JFK for the loss of Cuba and its lucrative deals with Batista still come to the surface even yet today.

The Federal Government has been very much preaching about the "Insider Threat" for well over a Decade....perhaps there is a reason they fear such a thing....as they are now doing it themselves by leaking this Classified Data.

Fully partisan Congressional investigations of the Democratic candidate costing millions of dollars leading to nowhere? A candidate wrongly accused by the Director of the FBI at the last hour after having cleared the very same in a most bizarre press conference unprecedented in the history of the FBI. Freely leaked data by Russian actors of Democratic officials, while any and all captured data from Republicans were held back. A Trump campaign chock full of lies, so many lies and spewed with such regularity, in fact, that the enormity of which has never been seen in the history of this Union of States.

Nowhere in the constitution does it mention the words legitimate and foreign power's influence over election so your argument fails. It does however make mention of high crimes and misdemeanors:

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."
s
Inarguably, this could very well be in Trump's future. Flynn may be the mere tip of the berg headed for the orange luxury (garbage bin) liner, aka the SS Team TrumPus.

Hatred Fitlit? Hardly. Didn't your mother ever tell you to not hate the sinner, just the sin, dear boy?

Disdain and disgust and might be more fitting. Add a dollop of pity on top if you really want to know how I regard the bozos and racists that Russia/FBI/Partisan Congressional Fishing Expeditions and uneducated Americans managed to put into power.

Calling the farcical tin-pot idiocy that the Trump administration has proven the American public to be so far a government is a bit of a stretch, SASless. Meanwhile, you just keep on spouting alternative facts, and 'look what the other guy did' while your guy rapes and pillages a country where half were hoodwinked into believing these bozos are going to make "America Great Again".

Oh dear.
More fake news Donald?
Not a good idea having the NSA, CIA and FBI offside my friend.
Now you'll probably try and tell us that the real story is how all this found it's way into the NYT?

What a nice man.....although I am sure to some on here, he's just, in the American vernacular " a regular guy".....as well as being the inevitable God fearin, all American patriot....

I am sure, however, his contribution to the new Administration ( less the term, regime, upsets those of delicate sensibilities on here who take umbrage at any comment which doesn't conform with their ideology ) will prove to be invaluable....

No worries, West Coast. I am truly enjoying witnessing the racist rats and moronic forked-tongue minions scramble about as their ship of fools, the SS TrumPus Vulgaris heads for the bottom of the cesspool.

My real worry is for the most vulnerable among us that will likely bear the brunt of the suffering these fools in orifice have placed upon them.

Real worry #2: If they continue on their ill-advised course, I predict a major terrorist attack on the US homeland before year's end - thanks to the administration's own ignorance, hate-mongering, xenophobic rants and racist rhetoric combined with an obvious disregard for the peace and safety of the world at large.

#3: The environment - will take a serious hit. Our rivers and the very air we breathe are now under serious threat thanks to your guy's picks for cabinet secretaries and his bent on supporting the disreputable and destructive forces represented by King Coal, Big Oil, and Big Polluters, over the lovely blue ball that gives us life, Mother Earth.

Re the inaugural crowd photo: the administration can soon fix that. Look at the name of the photographer: Abbas Shirmohammadi. He can be "fixed" during the next attempt at an anti-Muslim visa resrtictions/"chuck 'em out" laws.

"Hatred Fitlit? Hardly. Didn't your mother ever tell you to not hate the sinner, just the sin, dear boy?"

More like obsessive, destructive fixation.
To be consumed by so much angst, and display it in public is not healthy.

Did your Mother never tell you to eat your peas, indigestion left untreated leads to irritable bowel syndrome.

Oh dear me....VAP is probably perched on the Porcelain Throne writhing in agony because of his chronic Trump Tummy and banging away at the keys of his iPad!

It could be a very long eight Years for him....perhaps we might take the long view of this sad situation of his....and buy Shares in a Paper Company that makes Bog Rolls!

Odd how Trump is affecting the economy isn't it?

Chances of Trump lasting 8 years are quite a bit smaller, than the chances he won't even last a year, let alone the first term. Don't take my word for it, it's the bookies running the odds.

What does puzzle me to no end, is how any person of intelligence could root for a double-stint of a Bannon administration. I know partisanship runs deep in US politics, probably to the detriment of any rational thinking (on both sides, mind), but, seriously?
