Yes

There are at least two (2) "CIAs"....the smiling part, and the business part.

If I may remind the sound and fury discoursers of the basics here:

Flynn showed that he's not a smart as someone, doubtless his own self, thinks he is.
General Petraeus showed, with both his affair and then his getting convicted (misdemeanor) of mishandling classified info, that he too ate a few to many helpings of hubris.

In Flynn's case, I am glad that his carelessness is exposed now and he's given the pink slip rather than it be a long festering problem that only gets worse.

This is a sore subject. Hubris indeed...it is not generally the offense, it is the cover up.
Fed up with lies... From whichever direction... For the first time in a long while, the Media is doing at least one thing right, though for the wrong reason.....keep the pressure up, and soon enough the Press will have no ammunition to attack their political opponents.

Give them nothing to chew on, do it right, and let them marginalize themselves......

I agree with the now rather than later, however I do think he was suggested for the job as a means of getting him someplace, anyplace else than where he was.
That does not demean the man for accomplishments prior.
But then what the hell do I know.

A Theory

It may have been discussed and dismissed already but I haven't seen it yet, just a personal view but I think the subject of Flynn's talks with the Russians is just one name, Snowden. I think, at Trumps behest, Flynn may have been discussing the relaxation of sanctions against Russia for the return to the USA of Snowden, he was only ever given protection by Putin so that he became a bargaining chip. If the various anti Trump elements of the security services had kept their traps shut and not briefed the media Snowden could have been back in the USA by now. Own goals all round.

Vapilot - Still keeping up the venom and vitriol, I see!

If you want to get at least 15 minutes ahead of President Bannon's twatter outpourings, just go to Fox news or Breitbart (to access Breitbart ensure your "nationalist and white supremacy websites" filter is set to "allow brown people"). Whatever nugget of intellectual genius is on that outlet, sure enough, 15 minutes later our friend of the Soviet collective has posted it. Must be saving the NKVD a fortune in data access.

To lose one cabinet member may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose two looks like carelessness.

Still, a very long way to go to catch up with Corbyn, eh?

Strong rumors have Vice Adm. Bob Harward as the new NSA (nat sec. adviser, not the Puzzle Palace).

Interesting background for the challenges we face in 2017. As a teen, lived in pre-Islamic-Revolution Iran with his (American Navy) parents, speaks fluent Farsi/Persian, but most recently has been on the other side of the Gulf as CEO of Lockheed Martin UAE. Former SEAL and SEAL commander.

The military-industrial-complex ties might raise some eyebrows, but it's not like the NSA is deep in the weeds of procurement decisions.

Looks like a stand-up guy.

It's alternately horrifying and hilarious watching this all happen from down here.
I wake up each morning and eagerly look at the news thinking "...what new thing have Trump and Co. fvcked up overnight??!"
It's a slow motion train-crash...
Patternisfull - yep - that's a pretty impressive record.

Over the years, there have been many proponents as to the feasibility of living, and life, in a parallel universe.

Now, it seems, the new incumbent is indeed proving these theories are not as far fetched as many would believe.....as he's clearly evidencing on a daily basis...... ".fake media" being the latest incarnation it seems...

https://www.channel4.com/news/trump-...lligence-leaks

And, as some members of the UK population are inclined to say....trust me, there are some who do actually speak like this, and not in jest, it was "jolly beastly and dashed unsporting what " for the media to make the observations they did, and continue to do, about a recent departure from the Administration.

Given the rather short tenure, will he be getting a pension at all ?

Almost forgot...sorry, it's nice to learn the rather delicate issue of Palestine has also now been resolved. Where next in the world will such dynamic thinking prevail to settle years of conflict we can only wonder....Yorkshire vs the rest of the world perhaps ?

Not at all uncommon for cabinet nominees to withdraw. Not everyone can stand up to the intrusive grandstanding senators, and frequently something is dredged up that causes a couple of senators to shift -- like they did here. The guy decided it wasn't worth the fight.
Zoe Baird, Kimba Wood, Tom Daschle, and Bill Richardson are four recent Democrats in that state.

Excellent! With Puzder and Flynn ousted, we are finally seeing signs of GOP members of Congress growing a backbone and channeling some integrity for a change.

Leaking is illegal, there's that.
Leaking in the name of truth and justice, on the other hand, is often found to be decidedly un-prosecutable. The 'leakers' in this case are true patriots. Trump had the information for over 3 weeks, and did not make a move until Flynn's dodgy Russian dialogs were finally disclosed publicly. GOP members of Congress (save a few good men like Senator John McCain) were also sitting on their thumbs over this.

I am of the mind that Trump knew full well of Flynn's discussions with the Russians, but he may dodge that bullet of an impeachable offense.

All true but it's not all bad. This new administration is demonstrating that while populists of the likes of Trump come over very well enough on TV should they be given any actual power their rhetoric swiftly proves their undoing.

A salutary lesson to Europe who will be voting, or not, for its own versions of Trump in the next months.

Brexit, of course, is a similar car crash. But while Trumps car crash happens in real time the consequences of Brexit will play out in slow motion over decades.

While much of Trump's rhetoric is clearly out of a (normal, thinking person's) bad dream, the main trouble is his poor choice of inner circle, and the resulting team demonstrably being wholly unsuited to govern.

Considering all that FBI nonsense wouldn't have occurred, IF Slick Willie hadn't had the "chance" meeting with the AG, if the administration had appointed a special prosecutor rather than tried to investigate Hils, it's bit of an "own goal".
Director Comey's unprecedented public discussion of both an ongoing investigation and his last-hour claim of re-opening the case mere days before Election Day went outside of every norm the FBI has held since its inception. That's the proven problem, not Billy boy's unwise visit with AG Lynch on the tarmac. Straw man argument.

Parabellum, not vitriol my friend, pointed, unvarnished truth. Apologies for the colorful language. I figure we're all grown up here and its about time some payback came for all of those years of undeserved Obama bashing.

Your party's candidate and resulting bozo of a president is a real piece of work - of this there should be little doubt.

No Vapilot, not my party, probably would be, if I lived in the USA, but I am a very strong disliker of Clinton, her incompetence, deliberate lying and deception, not to mention her willingness to leave American citizens at the murderous hands of terrorists, contrary to advice from her military advisers, simply because it didn't suit her agenda, 'No more boots on the ground'
