con-pilot, my first reaction too. However, just like people think we're dodging bullets constantly in the US, maybe Mexico isn't completely overrun by the "cartels".

Doesn't mean it's not true either.

Maybe someone can show us where it is not true, that should give us a topic other than guns and gun fondlers to talk about.

Bwaaaaaaa haaaaaa haaaa. And the joke of the day award goes to........

(PS: If the US is such a broken country then why do millions of YOU PEOPLE try swimming over the great river to get here? eh? I'm sure you have more than enough lawns to mow in Mexico so why here then?)

No not completely. Even the cartels know not to kill the hand that feeds them, such as American tourism, that is why for the most part top tourist destinations are off limits to cartel violence, but not completely.

But when the mayor and his wife of a city in Mexico kills 43 students, does give pause to many about going to Mexico on vacation today.

So what? How could claimed conditions elsewhere, true or otherwise, have any bearing on the truth of what was said about America?

Either refute the assertion or accept it.

Because to many Mexicans, the US appears to offer more opportunity. Are you happy knowing that the US is awesome when compared to Mexico? How about when compared to Denmark?

BTW, I am not Mexican and dont come from Mexico but my location and PPRuNe name were designed to deflect. And it worked.

I think there are some PPRuNe subscribers who suffer from small dick syndrome. You know who you are.

“The average joe in the street is largely unaware of most issues”

Followed by:

“why do millions of YOU PEOPLE try swimming over the great river to get here?”

Are you aware that net migration to the US from Mexico has fallen to . . . . . ZERO?

Well yes, I have seen it written that sufferers of a microphallus seek to gain relief by acquiring guns and other 'manly' toys.

And the reason for that? Because as many Mexicans who still leave Mexico for the U.S. (and they most assuredly still do) is counter-balanced by the number of Mexicans who stream back across the border to Mexico.

Either refute the assertion or accept it.
Because it hasn't hit the threshold of credibility.

If I say the majority of NZ men shag sheep for fun, I would expect you know it's said in jest and not to be taken seriously. When this character makes generalizations about 300 million plus Americans, I recognize it's in jest or an attempt to piss the yanks off and not something to be taken seriously.

You don't take generalizations about 300 million people seriously do you?

It looked like a comment on the country rather than three hundred million individuals.

Spandex? How dare you call me that girly name. It sounds so sweet and feminine. Tree-hugging even. Not me.

Oh, that other Spandex. Never mind.
