nope, just magazine capacity. {though some may take offense at the awesome lethal force of a 36 gr slug at transonic speeds}.

Better, {I think} to leave real weapons to heads of state such as Khameni, Fat un turd and Wohoeverintheheckisscrewingup Venezuela now.

You all's call, though.

That kind of glib response is why I suggest there is a lack of empathy. You're all right so screw the rest of them.

I bugged out once the enforced sterilisation suggestion was made, there has never been any empathy from the usual suspects and I doubt there ever will be.

PTT, you don't have the vaguest idea WTF I was talking about.

Go on and pass judgement, but me and my mates this side of the pond are falling out of our chairs at your ignorance.

Seemed pretty clear to me. If it was in some way cryptic then it only adds to the glibness of the response and the validity of my point.

How ironic, because on this side of the pond I (and I don't pretend to speak for others) am dumbfounded at the apparent selfishness and (I'll say it again) lack of empathy.

Considering the damage to society you attribute to guns and considering the damage idiots having offspring do to both of our societies, I thought we had common ground--stopping idiocy? Guess not.

PTT,, It says "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness", NOT "life, those liberties granted me by my masters and betters, and the pursuit of empathy".

421dog - I presumed it was a type of gun. Doesn't take the brains of a doctor to work it out, tbh. That doesn't make the response any less glib. Are you trying to show that you have some empathy here? Because what I am reading suggests not, which only reinforces my statements.

galaxy flyer - yeah, you'll notice that life is the first one of those rights. That's kind of the point being made.

look it up, jerky boy.

And feel free to cast aspersions as to other's empathy after a bit of introspection.

Waht does "jerky boy" even mean? That I am made of jerky? That I tend to make sharp, sudden movements? Or is it an ad hominem of some sort? There are language, as well as empathy, barriers between our nations, it seems.

When someone consistently shows no empathy then little more introspection is needed on the matter. After all, it is not me suggesting that my rights would be infringed if the State demanded training on guns. That said, my previous post did ask whether you were trying to show empathy in case I misunderstood. So far it seems not.

Since you clearly have access to a search engine, Google it, have a beer and watch a few streaming episodes.
You might catch a glimpse of yourself.

Herr Hitler is waaaay, waaaay too not Libertarian for me. I'm more of a small government, live and let live, don't tread on me kinda of guy.

My modest proposal was that if idiots with guns must be regulated in your mind; why not regulating idiots in other personal behavior areas. If you think government can prevent people from committing acts hazardous to society, absent any proof of actually doing so, then regulating speech, having children, bills of attainder, or just about anything can be outlawed.

Regulating guns as you would have it is basically saying, "Citizen, we think you are not to be trusted, you are committing a crime or endangering the public and even in the absence of proof, probable cause or a hint of law breaking, we're going to consider you a criminal". I'd like just a smidgen of probable cause that my guns, or my kitchen utensils, or my car are being used, or are threatening to be used, criminally BEFORE the state comes to me with their gun in hand. Preventive law went out of fashion with Kings making the rules.

Is someone considered a criminal if they can't pass a driving test?

Question for you, though: do you think that State mandated firearms training is a bad idea and, if so, why?
Mandated training is an excellent idea. In the military, during compulsory 2-3 year enlistment.
