Trump is desperate for a win, problem is, with Bolton around, it may not be the "win" he believes it may be. Just heard a podcast on Bolton, a thoroughly nasty individual.
The Bolton factor was missing in the recent cruise missile scrum in Syria.

In your country the hawk is in charge, over here Bolton is just an advisor.

Moon and Kim crossed the border holding hands today, Historic moment indeed.
Now to see where it goes.

Theoretically these meetings are either very well planned (and work wonders) or a PR exercise and have no impact. Being Korean I expect results.

Media is reporting an upcoming formal end to the war (err...Police Action), maybe.
Could be good.
Could all be a PR and paperwork exercise.

Since Obama got a Peace Prize for... well, doing nothing, really... do you think Trump will get one for peacefully ending the Korean War?

Well this is part of the problem these days, isn't it? -- people looking for a reward or a prize or a trophy, before the event has been played out.

Let's just wait and see....

Nobel prize, the modern day participation trophy? I read recently that those who awarded the prize had buyer’s remorse.

But wouldn't it be fun to watch all the Trump hater's heads explode if he got the Nobel Peace price? Especially since, if he manages to bring peace to the Korean peninsula, it might actually be deserved?

Iím sure the DNC is working on talking points that attribute credit to anyone but Trump. Fat wuns chauffeur will soon be the darling of the left for driving porky to the DMZ.

Personally I can't wait to see if Trump holds hands with him as well, as they go skipping off down that path.

Half an hour is a start.
50 years forward might be more suitable.

Tump's Nobel - news flash - the deadline for this year's award has already passed. Republican sycophants are jumping the gun in order to give this president political cover for the spectacle of criminals that keep falling out of his orbit and the Mueller investigation that continues to bear more (rotten) fruit.

President Moon should be the awardee on reconnecting the North and South, he has been the one pushing for dialog. Now if the Korean peninsula is rid of nuclear weapons - a laudable goal, but highly unlikely, I would grudgingly admit the current US president may have been a factor, in concert with China and the long history of international sanctions.

FYI: Obama himself said he was "surprised" and felt "unworthy" of the Peace prize, although committee members and the chair have said the (mostly Iraq war) international relations damage undone by the Obama presidency was swift and wide.

That's all a bit premature. Let's wait and see what actually does happen with this little initiative.
Changing clocks and holding hands does not a Nobel make.

Just seen this: North Korea to dismantle nuclear site in May ceremony - BBC News

Something tells me that this test site is already effectively demolished, as a consequence of landslides and collapses from their tests, so by going public with the "decommissioning" all that NK is doing is turning their failure into a bargaining chip with the US, China etc. I have a very strong feeling that NK really exhausted all it's available resource into weapon and missile development, and realised, some time after their last weapon test, that their programme was totally screwed, with no hope of recovery (they don't have anywhere else they could use as a test site).

I'm convinced that this, more than anything else, has caused the sudden about turn from NK - they were in a corner and this was their best option.

More like China said get rid of your crap from next to our border before it irradiates our citizens. (If they have not already been irradiated.)

It doesn't really matter what the reasons for NK's new approach might be -- it would be a crime not to take advantage of it and try to resolve the 70 year standoff. Trump's approach may or may not work, but it's a whole lot better than what has gone on to date.

Wouldn't Stormy Daniels already be the recipient of the $130,000 Noble Piece Prize?
