He didn't GIVE you Sky Sports.

He made you pay a premium for it!

Many prefer not to be the victims of extortion!

It's always funny how a few simple words can elicit such vitriol. I know many think RM is the anti-Christ, and I wish I didn't have to pay as much as I do (hell, that's no different to many things), but at the end of the day my monthly subscription brings me all the sport I want right to my fireside.

By paying my "premium" for access to it I can watch live golf from Europe and the PGA tour in the US, tennis grand slam events, live Premiership football, live Spanish football, live Champions League football, the very best in live F1 motor racing, etc. etc. Twenty years ago I had Match of the Day and the odd F1 race on BBC and/or ITV. Outside of a Saturday's horse racing, live sport was hardly ever broadcast, except when it fitted in with the rest of the soaps/news/game shows. Edited highlights were as good as it got for most sports.

We all have a choice, and I know which I prefer. To be honest, I despise having to pay the BBC licence fee, which I see as an enforced tax, even though I rarely watch or listen to anything from them. I could easily get by without it at all.

Many people simply can't afford both, so don't have the choice.

Ryder Cup BBC coverage???

If you're feeling the need and Sky isn't available, go online at wiziwig.tv and there will be a plethora of channel choice for the Ryder cup, as well as any other sport you may want to watch. Genius.

The only thing worse than nothing on the TV, is golf on the TV.

Most likely BBC refused to pay for the licensing fee to broadcast the Ryder Cup live. They donít give the TV rights for sporting events away for free you know.
