You got it!

I was hoping people would be drawn into thinking it was a fort or pilbox of some sort and get lead down the wrong path.

Espada III, over to you.

Habitat 67, or simply Habitat, is a model community and housing complex in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, designed by Israeli/Canadian architect Moshe Safdie. It was originally conceived as his master's thesis in architecture at McGill University and then built as a pavilion for Expo 67, the World's Fair held from April to October 1967

Looks more like a favella in Rio.
Was somebody actually paid to design that?

Well done Descol, You have the con.

While walking next to the St Lawrence, I asked "Mon Fille" why they had not yet demolished the decrepit tenement structure at the other side of the water. .

Cue "shock and Horror" - "That was designed at the time of the Montreal Expo 67 and is regarded as an architectural masterpiece"

Something to do with the fact that every apartment has views from at least three sides.

Image crawls back into his corner...

MFC_fly, this is turning out to be quite difficult. I sympathise greatly with the bust's outrage at being guanoed. A clue of any sort would help keep the thread on Page 1.
