Crikey, I've never heard anyone say that Crawley is nice in the summer; nor in the winter for that matter! Especially so if you're there for a simulator check!

TCF, perhaps a closer look? Yellow tops and RayBans (I knew there was aviation content somewhere!) can make such a difference

FlyingOfficerKite, please try again to post your pic (unless it's my ISP that's supremely slow). If you're using Photobucket, don't give up, you'll eventually find the way as most of us did.

It's just not coming up. I tried myself and couldn't get it to work, but if you go right to the site, you can see it.

Of course, sorry about that 11Fan! I haven't been able to work out what the animal in the picture is, a seal with orca colouring or an orca with a seal shape. Perhaps FOKite can help us in that respect.

The water level looks a bit low. Maybe it needs a new seal?

Yup TCF, Google returned all sorts of "seal fountain": fountain pen seals, rubber stamp seals, etc.

Doesn't look up to the standard of St Petersburg fountains, Loma; it'd have to be gold plated, too.

In fact the entire setting is a pretty amateurish effort: different types of rock contrasting with each other and with the ceramic pastilles lining the pool. Black slime forming between the chunks of quartz. All in what looks like a public park where the benches have been repaired but not repainted.

I'm going to guess that it IS a seal and that it's in an underfunded park somewhere in Southern Chile or Argentina. A clue from FlyingOfficerKite would help.

Any chance of a clue?

Looks like it might be in Eastern Europe.

Perhaps we should just move on with another challenge and, when FlyingOfficerKite checks in again, he'll understand the desirability of monitoring so the thread doesn't stall.

Just to keep the thread moving, here's a pic of a popular rock-climbing destination in South America. There's also a terribly rusty steel ladder up to the top for those less interested in muscle knotting.
