Could the Brits do a deal with Barcelona?

Maybe make Barcelona a sort of semi-Independant Colony of the Uk like Gib?

Then, we could invite their soccer team to join the UK's premier league, and so a "British" soccer team might win something in Europe.

158 Asian prostitutes arrested in Barcelona last year. Not hard to miss as they do their stuff, mainly Bravo Juliette, standing on the side of the Ramblas in broad daylight. Also crime capital of Europe as far as handbag snatching, pickpocketing, and mugging. Romanians call it their training centre.

Nice place for a visit, though, you just have to walk fast, swing arms, stare straight ahead, don't look like a tourist and keep 1.5 metres from *anyone* approaching you. Other than that......

The British government, of any party, couldn't do a deal for a pork pie..

Re the Gibralter situation..

CMD: I'll have to speak with my Solicitor

Clogg: Yes, you can have Gib and I'm a sphincter.

Mr Milibean: One Nation... One Nation... One Nation... One Nation... The Conservatives.. One Nation... One Nation...

What should be said:

Phone rings: Ahhh ! Rajoy old chap wind yer fcuking neck in on Gib or you'll be getting a bucket of sunshine delivered over Madrid...

... Oh and tell that bit.ch with a face like a slapped arse to wind her neck over the Falkands or she'll be getting the same.

Oh and Rajoy, sort your sh!t out over the economy, we're fed up to the back teeth of bankrolling you dozy spics.

Have a nice day!

The UK should perhaps attempt to learn from France's relations with Monaco...?! Monaco is not allowed to move a finger without prior approval from France in just about all spheres related to that small state.

Yep.. I'm down with that, seeing the figures that Spain has absorbed from the EU in funding and subsequent bailouts and it's still a basket case, Spain shouldn't move finger without our say so.

Good idea airship

Spain is not Argentina? I thought you were both inextricably stuck at the hip, I'm sure Rajoy would like to give Madame President a blow job. The majority of Spaniards living around me don't give two hoots about Gibraltar, and all are well aware that this is just a pure smoke screen to avoid the real problems in Spain When will you grow up? Spain cannot run its own country and the EU should impose direct rule from Brussels

Golly yes, to suggest Brussels could run a country - any country - better than the locals - no matter how stupid - would be a funny idea if it were not utterly pathetic.

Remember the tendency of EU Member States to send their most useless politicians to work in Brussels...anyone prefer Baroness Ashton to Cameron as a leader of the UK ? No, I thought not.

Mind you I'd prefer a loathsome slimy worm, to Nick Clegg.

Seen a few interviews here with young people being asked what they think of the Gibraltar business. They all say it's a ploy by Madrid to distract attention from the economy and corruption in Spain. Bright kids, some of 'em.

This whole masturbatory fantasy has been dreamed up ( probably by the that did the buoyancy sums on their sub ...... ) with the idea that when the unfortunates who have to cross the border daily cough up the 100 ( 2 x 50 ) extortion , it will suddenly ease the Spics debt problem......................

Overlooking the fact that most don't earn 100 a day......

and overlooking the age-old principle that raising taxes results in collecting less money as fewer people pay tax because they are out of work (or in the case of Spain*, working on the fiddle).

Thought not, so keep silent, eat your own vomit.
Suggest you take your own advice, airship. I've not seen such a collection of bilge since I was in the bowels of an amphibious ship back in the 1970's.

Well the whole of Europe has these anomalies strewn about. The town of Llivia for example, is some 20 km inside France and is Spanish. there's a town in Portugal which the Spanish refuse to give up (despite signing a treaty in 1815) Belgium has lots of bits of the Netherlands inside it (or is it the other way round).
Andorra of course is another oddity....being co ruled by two princes, one being the ruler of France (monsieur Hollande, great socialist president that he is, is also a prince), the other is a bishop of somewhere. why we can't accept these quirks of history and move on is beyond me. Of course most of us can....the ones with nothing to direct attention away from.

Good to see that Spanish map correctly showing Gibraltar as belonging to the UK.
Could we please see an Argentine map with the Falklands correctly attributed?

Oh for the love of God "Cry Havoc and let Slip the Dogs of War"

Everyone is in the sh*tter.

Europe is in it's death throes financially.

Immigration is set to become the biggest political time bomb of the next 10 years

The chasm between the rich and the poor is ever widening.

Politico's of every country are self serving, lying, money grabbing, elitist scum.

Ordinary people cannot buy somewhere to live without saving for 20 years,

All of this crap, not just from the Spanish side, is all about diverting the truth.

Thatcher done it in 82, Blair done it all his political life.

Now I'm off to see what the New World Order are up to.

Not when you have to step off the pavement onto the road to get around them and an automobile hits you !

I see: blocking the right of way. Safety concern noted.

So, how does one say, in Catalonian ... "Get a room!"
