Mr Wodrick, hound and self share the same pair of clippers. He gets shaved to the skin three or four times a year in the summer to combat the heat. I shave the old melon before each tour to sandy places. Saves on shampoo, don'tcherknow? The DIY option isn't too bad if one doesn't suffer from vanity.

35 deg C forecast for today and nary a cloud in the sky.

Felicitations, Mijnheer HB. One will have an ale on your behalf later.

Right knee currently basketball sized for some reason. Suppose ones no chancre mechanic rule will have to be violated in this case.

Edited for bone spolung.

Happy Birfday Mr Brink. If you were at Batibouw you were just a mile from the SSKave. Traffic jams for the next week duly planned for.

(Batibouw is the Belgian equivalent of the Ideal Home Exhibition, half the country descends upon it)

Morning all, grey and grotty here and the weather is not too good either. Just realised Mrs BH has run out of one of her medications. Trying to get it ordered for today as we will not be here after tomorrow. Being bounced between surgery and pharmacy. One stepdaughter and two g/kids due over soon. Trying to child proof the house now.

Happy buffday Hellsbrink.

Happy birthday hellsbrink.

Been to get a few items from the German Bros stores.

On return, found an email from son's ex stating that she is cutting the email address that we have for her, immediately. All communication has to be via her lawyer and making threats as to what she will do if son goes anywhere near her, when his distance order expires in 11 days time.

Wodrick

I has my hair cut by a very slim blonde Danish lady.

which lies between Orkney and mainland Scotland. It was abandoned nearly 40 years ago but the cattle remained and now they are quite feral.

Grump.

We go away for a few wonderful days for his birthday and the sun comes out in all his glory back home for the entirety of our absence, but not a single glimmer where we were.

We get back and we have one, ONE day of sunshine.

Now that we're back and up and running and WE (ahem!) want to get out in the garden to do some long overdue work, guess what now?

Rain.
Rain rain rain rain.
Rain rain rain rain.
Rain rain rain rain.

It'll be a glorious day tomorrow though... I'm in Londonium for the day.

Here endeth the grump.

Wouldn't know, Ms Lexx. Never watch the thing if I can help it. The whole circus is getting ridiculous (internet, radio and print media). Better men than he out there and the whole hero thing re slebs and sportsmen/women is a bit distasteful, even more so now.

Unfortunately, I get the idea he allowed the fame and adulation to go to his head. Stroke the ego enough, delegate the mundane to acolytes, and we forget actions have consequences.

Happy Birthday, hellsbrink, and may you have many of them.

On that subject, may I ask if anyone knows how the system of displaying a selection of prooner's annual birthdays on the front page actually works? Every day it seems that about a dozen or so of us born on that date have their username included in the list. Yet according to the forum statistics, there are over 370,000 of us registered, hence one might estimate that an average of about 1,000 a day share the same birth date. So only a tiny 1.2% get that fact announced publicly, and I wonder whether it's the same dozen each year? And if so, what did they do to be so favoured?

I only ask because I want to know - (oh alright, my username never seems to come up, and I don't know whether to sulk or not )

Don't think so, handsfree. The only date given there is 10th April 2008, my joining date. Mind you, if it was my birth date, that only makes me 4 years old - precocious, or what?

Afternoon all, still sunny after a ground frost last night.
Pleasant surprise at the vet this morning, (one flies up from Guernsey every fortnight and holds a surgery) it was Bumble's annual MOT, and there are little signs that age is creeping up on her unfortunately. Nothing too serious overall and the bill was surprisingly reasonable I thought, not something I ever thought I would say in regard vets and Newfoundlands.

Go to User CP then "Edit your details"

You will then see a panel with Date of Birth
From the drop down menu you can choose to display your full date of birth and I think it is that which is the trigger.

I get the happy birthday emails but I only chose to display my age and consequently don't get flagged up in the birthday list.

I'll change it and see what happens come October 6th

Finally returned very late last night from that rainy place down south where we benefitted from some glorious sunshine so no time yet to read in. Tin tent deposited in its secure home where Dilys met Mary the Moggie - a very nice, gentle tabby cat who speaks fluent Dog so they got on very well indeed. Hope all have recovered from any aches, pains, illnesses etc, had great birthday celebrations and the like whilst we have been away. Catch up later.

Ah, light dawns ... Thank you, handsfree.

Mind you, on my 6th birthday in April 1945, Hitler decided to top himself, so he didn't come to my party ...
