Dare I bring this subject up?

Is Israel going to invade Gaza?

Tanks and armored personnel carriers on the border, a call up of 75,000 reserves has been announced.

Does Hamas want them to?

Keeping up the rocket attacks will make it pretty certain. They've now started rocketing Jerusalem, which will either be a couple of days-worth of proving that Hamas can do it, or it will continue as it suits Hamas to get itself invaded to play the victim.

Yeah, that surprised me, when was the last time Jerusalem was targeted by Hamas or whatever Muslim terrorist group? The 70s?

They are getting ready to lay some lumber, it seems, and screw up Christmas for some of our forces who will deploy, or remain deployed, rather than spend Christmas with their families.

Someone pulls this stunt every @#&%#$ing Christmas.

Probably the Palestinians know that they would be better off if they were part of Israel.

The same twisted logic as is apparent in many Muslim countries, where there is daily condemnation of the 'Great Satan' (the USA), but everyone is lining up in front of the US embassy to get a visa

Blame it on the Pagans, they are the ones that started this celebration a the end of December.

Never the less, you are quite correct, a lot of our armed forces men and women will most likely miss Christmas this year.

Unless Obama decides to stay out of this fight and who knows just what he'll do. I think there will be an excellent chance that he'll do nothing, can't run for President again you know.

An even bigger question is, what will Egypt do if Gaza is invaded? Syria cannot do anything, the Syrian government is barely hanging on as it is.

Judging from reports, it would seem the Israelis have at least some idea where the rockets and launch/transport equipment are.

A short invasion; seek out and destroy the weapons and equipment, blow up the Sinai tunnels, then get the heck back out fast would probably be the move to make.

.

I agree and they are pretty good at doing that.

Silly decision targeting Hamas's top boy in Gaza after a ceasefire had been in place for a couple of days. Israel does like prodding the snake when relative calm has returned.

A ground offensive would be an unwise escalation IMHO. If Hezbollah get involved, I fear for the region.

On the contrary, the Palestinians are like a small boy with a stick who likes to poke at the hornets nest. (i.e. rocketing Israeli settlements). Then when the hornets all buzz out and sting the crap out of them they complain about being badly done to.

Rinse and repeat every few years.

It's the old "doing the same thing, expecting a different result" thing.

'Israeli settlements' would appear to me to be the reason the little boy keeps poking his stick in anger at the big hornet.

Iran needs Israel to be an international pariah again so they are less likely to attack Iran's nuclear sites.
Supply Hamas with lots of shiny rockets; await the inevitable; job done.

The settlements being rocketed from Gaza have nothing to do with the West Bank settlements issue.

I wouldn't worry too much about Israel, they're more than prepared to suppress this.

The real question is : What if Isreal decides they've had enough and move into Palestinian territory and obliterate them for good ?

I am a Christian, btw.

I'm with you Milo.

It's like advertising. Goes in cycles and keeps the peeps spellbound, due their lack of memory.

Perhaps another build up to the 'merricans getting involved in another war without reason.

Milo - highly credible alternative.

Either way, it looks like everyone thinks Israel is planning to do something about Iran's nuclear capability

and then.....

UN agency: Iran to double output of uranium that can be used quickly for nukes - The Globe and Mail

IRan a marathon last weekend...

Them poor f****rs can only wish. The West will obliterate them in the blink of an eye.

It's the same old : keep everyone on tenterhooks and receive the response desired : Help me master. ...And that folks is how simple it is to remain in power (sic)

1 Samuel 23:2

Therefore David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and strike these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and strike the Philistines, and save Keilah.

and whilst we're at it

Isiah 21.8-9 A Prophecy against Babylon (nb. Persian at the time)

And the lookout[a] shouted,“Day after day, my lord, I stand on the watchtower;
every night I stay at my post.
9 Look, here comes a man in a chariot
with a team of horses.
And he gives back the answer:
‘Babylon has fallen, has fallen!
All the images of its gods
lie shattered on the ground!’”

and to keep Caco happy, here's some music

I note that rockets are falling on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Settlements? Not quite.

I hadn't realized the election was coming soon in Israel. So, shot that buggah from the air, get the rest of the Palestinians all hot and bothered, get rockets inbound, and the knock the piss out of them ... and have the reerves mobilized just in case anyone else (Hezbollah!) wants to play, and incase Egypt gets the idea to get all froggy on short notice. Win election. It's duck soup.

Them folks in Gaza are once again eating the crap sandwich, and once again in waaaaaaaaaay over their heads.

Start issuing helmets, Hamas dudes, your people are about to need them.
