Good idea, impossible in practice. How exactly would you stop people voting twice without associating their identity with a particular vote? How do you know the ballots have not or cannot be tampered with?

Ways of doing it have been postulated by computer scientists for yonks. There's no way to make it more or even as secure than the system we have now without making it less anonymous.

Banks spend millions keeping their systems secure from hackers and they have the benefit of being required to identify the owner every single dollar and cent. How much would it cost to develop an anonymous system for counting votes?

I think people can stand to wait a few days for a perfectly reliable count using the KISS method - pen and paper. As was said, it's not like there's an election every week. You lot are starting to sound like "Gen Y" and their need for instant gratification

So what shall we do now? I'm assuming this is going to be fairly terminal for Turnbull. But if you install someone else in this clusterfook who is going to want the job? I would say Bishop is next in line, seems to have respect from all corners. But would you potentially want to risk the possibility of having a great future female PM in this environment? Do you put up a patsy and sail on into the jaws of defeat if that's what its looking like? or do you just stick with Turnbull and see what happens? Why would you be a politician. Second crappiest job to being a sports coach :P

If you saw the cartoon of Pauline today in the Australian, then you could be forgiven for thinking of his reincarnate!

Is it just me?
Or ... is anybody else getting a bit tired of Binghi's Broken-record Blatherings?

Please, Binghi ... when you post on matters directly to do with aviation, it's generally a worthwhile contribution.
On the other hand, your politically-motivated posts come across as, (how should I put it?), somewhat less than insightful.
Can we up the standard a little, please?
Do you mind?

OK Stan, you say, where's your contribution?
I'll just ask a question, then.
Where do we go from here?

On one hand, we have Malcolm and his backyard full of mammonish mangy mutts (including one that should be put down ASAP).
On the other, there's Shorten and his collection of shifty shysters (they're still lurking behind the gate, let me tell you).
Answers on the back of a beer-coaster, please.

My lovely mum rang me tonight and said that she had a robocall saying that the greens had won! Took me a while, but she settled down when I said that it looked as though it was going to finish up with around 76/69/5.
How many did the greens get then she asked? To save confusion I lied and said two!

Aw, c'mon, SOPS...
If Tony Blair can score a gig as Middle East Peace Envoy and then push in line for the spot as Brexit negotiator, then surely
there's gotta be room for a talented snout like Kevin's in some trough somewhere.
They're both proven performers in everything they've done, don'tcha see?

Yeah, it were a bit of stating the bleeding obvious that turnBull is the best One Nation recruiter going.
Although, the Libs dont seem to know it...

The incompetent arrogant Milky Bar Kid caused enough damage in this country Oz without him being let loose in the UN. And Shorten who could not stomach him then now pushes forward his nomination - pfft such two faced behaviour !

On sky news Kristina Keneally and PVO really ripped him a new one. To the point where he had out the American medical journals definitions and criteria for what constitutes a psychopath. Needless to say he almost ticked every box....

It's the UN... who cares what they do or say anyway?

They are just an even more bloated version of the EU. If a country decides they don't want to do what the UN wants all they get as punishment is a strongly worded letter of "grave condemnation".

Let him have his ego trip. In this day and age he has no chance of being elected over a woman anyway.

Trouble with PVO is he never stops talking, why does he bother with guests?

No idea how much truth there is in it but today KK, on the PVO show, (God, how I hate it, won't watch tomorrow!), said; Rudd isn't after the top job anyway, which he thinks will possibly go to Uncle Helen but, in any event, a women, Rudd wants the next job down.

Just announced on Channel Nine news, from their reporter at the Democratic convention, that 70% of American voters don't trust Hillary Clinton - a good start! .
