I think the comments Ethel makes here would draw ecstatic cries of unbridled approval from all his like-minded mates on Crikey or the GetUp site if he was making them there.

In case it hasn't got through to you yet, they just don't cut it here, Ethel.

Don't feed the trolls guys. Need I remind you of what happened to the previous thread on Australian politics and why?

What Captain Sand Dune said!

Seriously you blokes; Would you really expect anything less from a Greens staffer?

Ignore him/her.

I just saw the following over on the 'Understanding Muslims' thread. I can only agree with its sentiments and think it applies equally to this thread.
This is what the left wing have done for decades, call people names in order to suppress discussion. Look where it has got us.
I do feel prejudiced against the Muslims who arrive, seeking refuge and then spit in our eyes. I also feel prejudiced against the muslims who wish to replace our culture with what they left behind.
I was once a tolerant wide eyed boy but decades of experience have forged my present attitude. I don't have a reference for you as evidence of that.
If you can't see what is happening then I suggest you visit a British city and leave your quest for tables, graphs, surveys and other written evidence behind. It will hit you right between the eyes.
If you think it is a good thing then perhaps you may consider what your descendents might face.
Here is another one for you. I believe that political correctness is a form of cowardice and that its' practitioners are weak poltroons intent on appeasement.
Have a forensic analasys of that and get back to me.

Well apparently the Russians have only labelled him immature," Embassy figure says relations are at a 'historic low', with Abbott more interested in 'muscle flexing' than investigating MH17"
I did not think we needed to investigate MH 17, Blabbott already told the world who dun it and with wot. ( bit like the other one will be found in days)
If only the Dutch safety board investigation came up with the same results!

Boxer versus judo, could be interesting. Mind you the Russians have a habit of fighting dirty, so your most likely right.

Nothing to get too worked up about Hempy, Ethel, Andu and others. What Abbott said was for the benefit of the relatives and friends of the people murdered on the MH17, a form of reassurance, let them know they are not forgotten. Not just a case of Abbott feeling punchy.

All will be well for Vlad when he comes here. Jacquie Jacquie Lambie has announced she's batting for his side. Any demonstrators who might even think of taking to the streets will have to deal with Jacquie. I'm sure he's breathing a huge sigh of relief to know that.

tony Dum Dum 2013
“We’re currently paying interest on it [Government debt] at the rate of over $7 billion a year — that’s almost as much as the national government’s entire higher education budget. We’re racking up some $140 million a week in interest payments alone ...”
Now, 13 months after Abbott gained office, the interest bill is $283 million a week.
No wonder the armed forces will have to take a pay cut over 4 years,
Maybe we need a royal commission?

C'mon Ethel. Did you ever give a flying fick when your folks were spending like the wives of Melbourne?

No, you didn't. And I'll offer a suggestion. Going after conservatives on the basis of government deficits, waste, etc., is a losing proposition if you're a Lefty.

Nobel Prize for economics challenges Hockeynomics
Apparently Hockey is defending Tony dum dum for the use of shirtfront.
He thinks dacking or short sheeting would be more appropriate.
If only he concentrated more on our appalling climate figures.

Hi Ethel
I see you are still pushing traffic to the puerile site calling itself Independent.
Is this independent of coherent thought?

Owen, cut Ethel some slack. She has to show she's posted 'n' number of witty, cut and thrust posts per day, every one of them guaranteed to cause utter consternation and self-doubt in every conservative heart when she submits her job sheet at Sussex St every week.

Can I assume that the lady from Rotherham Council in the UK is still working in her senior job at the Victorian Education Department? And that the Vic Government is not planning to make any move to cancel her contract?
