Right, give it a rest, you're just making things up now. I was at Silverstone and I will tell you now there wasnt a single boo from anyone, no matter who they were supporting. Lots of gasps, OMGs, christ I hope he is ok comments, but never a boo. And there was a circuit wide applause when he got out of the car.

My friend was also there and I’ve seen videos he took on his phone and there was definitely booing.

I like a healthy or heated debate and even arguments, but I’m a bit tired now of pettyness and name calling but whatever… I’m done with being accused of being a liar though

Why not get your friend to send you the video and stick it on Youtube and post the link to it on here?

I'm guessing this isn't your friends video then

I was sat at Farm curve and I guarantee that clap when it was clear he wasn't badly hurt went round the entire circuit

Difficult choice who to believe. An eyewitness backed up by independent online video evidence, or a hearsay allegation from a unnamed friend which you either can’t, or won’t, substantiate.

But then, you have such a reputation for unbiased comment….

Take a chill pill guys, I can never understand why rational people get all heated over something as trivial as sport.

The more I read about RB, and specifically Horner, the more they go down in my estimation. LH may or may not have been at fault, but RB seem determined to prove that LH deliberately shunted MV off the track, which, on the basis of the latest information regarding Max's speed going into the corner, is not the case. Note Horner's somewhat mealy mouthed response when confronted with some actual facts!

Spare a thought for the poor volunteer marshal at Brands Hatch that was killed when struck by a car guys, without them we wouldn’t have a sport.
There is a family that will have got the terrible news today

The linked article says it all, Nutloose. Thanks for the link. RIP

This eventuality is probably included in what you sign up for, but although sad, not a bad way to go, doing what you love. Having driven Brands Hatch, I know the authorities there are pretty strict and conscientious, but there is always a remaining element of danger there which you accept. I have seen video of previous incidents.

Lets not forget LH get points on his licence as well as a time penalty in the race.

But speaking during Friday’s FIA press conference, Horner made it clear this was not the case. “We didn’t at any point say in our submission that it was deliberate action,” Horner stated.

Come on people! This isnt RB or Mercedes stirring up trouble, its the media!

Both teams seem to want to put Silverstone behind them, and move on, but the Press wont let them...

Why don't we do the same?

Todays race looks like a humdinger of a race, with LH on Pole with the preferred medium tyre, with MV back in 3rd but on a much faster tyre, albeit for a few laps, and likely a 2 stop strategy, against Mercedes 1 stop...

Lets hope its a good clean race...

So, rocket start from Max then into the first corner!

What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe time for Lewis to practise how not to flub a start.

“We didn’t at any point say in our submission that it was deliberate action,” Horner stated.
The letter from Red Bull stated that:

Hamilton "knowingly did not avoid contact with Max's car" in the incident.
They now claim that doesn’t mean that his action was deliberate, but I struggle to find any other meaning in the sentence, especially in the context of asking for an increase in his penalty.

I think they main failing to take action to avoid a collision rather than maliciously causing it?
Sticking your car where your competitor goes knowing they’ll hit you, rather than deliberately crashing into them.

I get what Red Bull are implying. But that’s the thing with these 50/50 overtakes, someone has to give in or there will be collisions. And all this season it has been Lewis conceding to avoid a collision, but not in Silverstone.

Its the same with most overtakes in corners though, and running from the inside to the exit kerb and the guy on the outside has 3 choices basically to back off or run wide or hit you.

But Lewis had backed off, he was conceding the corner. If Max had yielded a few more inches he would have retained the lead.
Isn't hindsight wonderful?

Engine change for Verstappen!

eng #3. This might benefit Lewis towards the season.

The Japanese manufacturer confirmed Verstappen had switched back to a previous engine following qualifying after it “noticed something on Max’s PU which might have developed over the course of the weekend”.

If it’s a previously used engine it will probably be slightly down on power.

Horner just stated that the replaced engine had a visible crack in it and has been sent back to Honda in Japan for inspection.

If it does need replacing, rather than repair, that does put them up against the wall as far as the 3 engines per season limit.

When, as opposed to if, hey inevitably take a fourth engine it will incur a 10 place grid penalty.
