Teams are called whatever they want to be called. I'm sure if I was the CEO of Force India and my new engine partner offered me an extra $100m/yr if the team became "Zil-Force-India" I'd almost certainly go along with it (unless I felt I could hold out for $200m)...

I would prefer to get rid of the stupidity of spraying the fizzy drink on the podium.

Formula 1: Williams to wait until new year to announce driver line up.

Come back Felipe?

Williams's 2018 F1 driver line-up path is financial.

Apparently, Mercedes is getting close to producing a power unit that will have more than 1000 horsepower, numbers not seen since the V10 era of the 90s and 2000s. Talking to Motorsport, Mercedes's engine boss Andy Cowell has said that the team has already surpassed 900 and is well on the way to 1000: "We're close, I'm sure it'll happen at some point." That means Mercedes will likely be even harder to beat in 2018.

Mercedes's F1 Engine Will Break 1000 Horsepower Soon

Sounds like Ferrari and Renault have their work cut out for them...

The 1000HP engine will depend on its durability.
Next season, only four engines will be allowed for the whole season.
Of course that doesn't negate Mercedes from turning up the wick during qualifying and 'overtaking'.

I believe it is, in fact, a ludicrous three engines for the year.

Of course there's a British company which has been in the hybrid-bus business (actually having thousands of them in operation) for quite a while now...

Way back when F1 was exciting, the girls were known as "screwdrivers". I can't think why. There is however the apocryphal tale of James Hunt being caught in an empty garage at the Japanese Grand Prix

At one British GP in the 80s I was flying a company S76A shifting fans from a field near the MI to the Silverstone circuit. At the same time our other S76 was shifting people from a hotel to the circuit.

When I was shut down in the helicopter parking area before the actual race I was told to move mine to the passenger pickup area in preparation for the after race repatriation.

Half way through the startup James Hunt pitched up with a dolly on each arm and demanded to be flown back to his hotel. I surmised that he had been flown in on our other S76 and I told him so.

They then wandered off looking for our other pilot.

Unfortunately for him they didn't find him.

There was a good documentary on John Surtees on TV last night. As well as being an interesting tale, it was amusing to see the clothing worn by the likes of Clarke, Mansell and the like. It looked for all the world as if they had changed their trousers but kept the suit jacket on!

Copenhagen would be “a great platform” for F1 – Carey.
