Make that $40 Trillion, current FY is $3.8 Trillion!

LAJ

What is your point? Would you recommend he just mail in a check for what YOU think is right? Do you send Inland Revenue extra?

Larry Olsen Always Joking

You miss the point, utterly.

I am in favor of Tax increases. Serious increase, across the board.

Everybody should pay, not isolated demographics so two bit politicans like Obama and Boehner can preen, and lie.

And large, significant cuts in spending, such that the Republicans are so pleased, they wil promise to stay home for one year. Tax increases to dazzle the blowhard Democrats such that they will stay home for a year as well.

Congress and the President make deals in secret, and prevent open debate.

Krushchev and Stalin are smiling, from the grave.

They promised to bury us; Biden, Obama, Boehner and McConnell are shoveling the last bit of dirt on Lady Liberty.

And you want to play pedantic games.

Did I miss something?

I am a resident of North Carolina....my Senators are Richard Burr (R), Kay Hagen (D) sound of spitting heard, and my Representative is Virginia Foxx (R)....not Boehner, Reid, Pelosi, McConnell or Biden.

I thought my folks got to debate the Bills...offer Amendments...and vote on final measures. Just where is it written that those Penis Ends get to do all the bartering in private then tell the rest of us to sign onto their good deal?

As Brother Lyman clearly states.....something stinks here!

No, it is the American people that is having something shoved up their collective arses, by Obama and your worthless Democrats.

One dollar ($1.00) in spending cuts for ever forty one dollars ($41.00) in increased taxes. And even that one dollar promise of spending cuts are somewhere in the vague future.

The House Republicans should kill it, with haste. 77% of Americans see a decrease in take home pay due to this tax increase. NO, none, nada, zilch in fiscal discipline, just bigger spending, more government, Dems subsidizing unemployment.

I send plenty in income tax to the Inland Revenue at a higher rate than Americas Galaxy.

http://legalschnauzer.********.co.uk...ts-no.html?m=1

I guess the infamous quote from Wino that Iraq spending was "chump change" has proved to be a large part of America's huge deficit.

Sorry to hear that, LAJ! We pay FAR too much, if you pay more, you are really being hosed. The worst part of our code is horribly inefficient deductions, awful, inefficient taxes on capital and ridiculous estate taxes which taxes that which has already been taxed. More deadweight losses.

Ha on Iraq, the Dems wasteful "stimulus" package in ONE year ($800 billion+) spent as much as Iraq cost in 7 years.

It was at the time. Entitlements are the elephant in the room. We can't affort the ones we have, haven't paid for them, and this year we're adding Obamacare.

If you see a good end to this, LAJ, please point it out to me, as I am quite depressed about the whole fiscal outlook of the US.

I'm extremely disappointed that the Republican House failed to assert it's power of the purse at this fiscal cliff of the New Year. As I see it, they held the cards and folded.

Rand Paul, if you saw his speech on the floor on C-Span, had it right. Perhaps I need to radicalize even more.

Something needed to be done BenThere. At least a form of compromise was reached instead of descent into guaranteed recession had no deal been forthcoming.

I guess if both sides are bitchin' then it was as good a compromise as could have been reached.

Galaxy, others estimates range from $3 trillion upwards for Iraq. At least the stimulus package saved jobs I guess.

Ahhh yes... Obamacare...

A month or so ago my stepmother discovered that she was suffering from untreatable colon cancer that had spread. We were home for Xmas and found that she had never had a colonoscopy. You see, the National Health Care system in her district, (Note: it's not system-wide), do not do them and there is little effort to raise awareness regarding colon cancer. So, my 72 year old, full of life, stepmother is dying needlessly because socialized medicine can't afford a simple test that could have extended her life a decade or more.

To say that I and, more so, my father are utterly fg livid is an understatement.

Socialized medicine... Phhht!!!!

They didn't fold. They're in on the whole scheme as well. Don't think for a moment they're not.

THE REPUBLICANS ARE JUST AS GUILTY FOR THIS CHARADE AS THE DEMOCRATS ARE.

Entitlements are the elephant in the room.
This has been true for about thirty years. Even with the modest "welfare reform" of the 90's, nothing seems to have been done to curb this facet of public spending.

I am saddened by the lack of principles or accountability by the Congress and the President.

Again.

Those chortling in victory need to tell me how the debts are to be paid. How do we pay for the Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and Obamacare entitlements?

Raise taxes? Ok, to what level? And humans being humans, what to do when the capital seeks other alternatives?

Raise taxes again?

There was no existential threat to us. No WWIII, no commies invading. We wanted to charge everything and have it all. We wanted to save/police the world.

It was a good couple of centuries-long run. It will be over within a generation. Two at most.

Fcuk. Happy New Year.

One of the lighter moments of this whole "fiscal cliff" charade occurred in the White House yesterday. According to several sources I've read, it seems Mr. Boehner told Mr. Reid to "go fukc yourself" at one point when both were sitting on a couch in the Oval Office.

Boehner: 1 Reid: 0

On the other hand, it may be Boehner's last stand as I've also read that several higher-ranking Republicans want him gone.
His possible replacement? Eric Cantor!

And what I found quite surprising is that this year's Republican vice-Presidential nominee, one Paul Ryan, signed onto the bill passed by the House. Hmmmmm.

No, Dushan, you have it all wrong.

He meant to stick his index finger out and then say "Pull it. Go 'head. Pull on it."
