Mr Grimsdale

I think the sky site is maxed out right now. For those having problems here are the full gory moments of the interview with Jeremy Vine. Fantastic. I believe there is no place for Gordie leading the country after the next election, but he definitely has a place at the 2012 Olympics as star player on the Back Peddling Team.

ORAC Said: the gaffe that could kill of Gordon. etc

I'm glad you typed all that as it saves me doing it. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch indeed.

She's just an ordinary woman with the usual concerns and to him, she's a 'Bigotted woman'. Shows how out of touch they are

I can only add how dumbfounded I was on Saturday to hear labours press release announcing the Gordon was set to meet 'Real Voters' and not the usual 'Labour Supporters' who are usually bussed in to stand round the PM.

All I can say is it serves you right.

Well, I don't think he'll be doing that again between now and May 5th

Totally, utterly insignificant.

Totally, utterly insignificant.

Thanks Sprogs for the web-site. I was trying to explain this to my daughter yesterday.

Having made what I thought was a good job of it, she then asked whether or not she had to vote Tory. "No", said I. "Does it mean that you have to vote Tory, then?" Clearly my skills at educating the young are not improving.

The average UK voter has 8.33x more voting power than voters in Beaconsfield.

Speaking as a mere 38 year old, I have a feeling this will have completely alienated a significant proportion of those of pensionable age. The lady in question said something along the lines of "having to make do on a miniscule pension which is taxed", her comments sound pretty reasonable to me. For daring to contradict Mr Brown she's called a bigot. Nice work sir!

Any chance of getting Mr Brown to engage in a question and answer session with some of the military? I believe that could provide some marvellous television.

Just watched that BBC clip, he couldn't get out of that studio fast enough!

A few things spring to mind: Brown said 'I don't think she's a bigot' SO WHY SAY IT?

He blamed the media for fitting him with a mike. NOPE, YOU JUST FORGOT IT WAS THERE.

He said it was because he couldn't respond to a question on immigration because of a media scrum. YET YOU FOUND TIME TO REEL OUT THE USUAL PR ABOUT HOW'S YOUR GRANDKIDS?

If a sterile, stage managed TV debate can boost the Lib Dems then this will consign Labour to a distant third place. The perils of 21st century electioneering....

The bloated loon even attempted to take credit for the repatriation of people after the Killer Ash Cloud (which started in Iceland). He'll be at the happy pills this afternoon Buy Nokia = Profit!

Mind you, if the old woman hadn't slavishly voted Labour all this time, she might have had better grounds for haranguing the Prime Mentalist.

Just noticed Brown's answer to Vine before the tape was played:

"I will apologise if I said anything that is hurtful and I will apologise to her personally"

This is typical of career criminals (politicians = same thing?), they deny everything until they see the evidence. His body language indicated that he knew what he'd said - followed by the "oh shit" moment when Vine says 'lets play the tape'.

Clegg and Expenses scandal........

Clegg was, of course, "whiter than white" with respect to the expenses scandal..................

What he forgot to mention was his 2nd house in Brussels, which he bought as an MEP and which he funded through the "NO-receipts" expenses payments which MEPs get.

His flipped gain was of course, "only" £250,000.

Mandy sticking his oar in.

"Quite right that GB should apologise for saying something that he didn't believe."

So when do we know when GB is telling the truth?

If I was allowed one clear shot at any minister it would have to be Mandelson.

Need to be a silver bullet though.

don't forget..

Nick Clegg has admitted taking expenses for business-class air travel while actually flying economy as a member of the European Parliament.

The Liberal Democrat leader used the budget airline BMI Baby to fly between Brussels and the UK, but was paid what he admits was 'whopping' expenses based on the price of a business-class seat on a major airline.

So then we can take from that, that Gordon Brown doesn't believe what he says.

That should finish off Labour's election campaign.

Job done, cheers Mandy, cheers Brown. Now you can p!ss off into the sunset and take the rest of the lying cabinet with you.

Mandy said the PM had no wish to hurt the lady, had he wanted to do that he would have thrown a phone at her.

Bigotgate: David Cameron will relish Gordon Brown's gaffe in the BBC election debate

What a gaffe! All the polls indicate that immigration is one of the most important public issues in this campaign, second only to the economy. So far Gordon Brown has been bending over backwards to give the impression he shares the public’s anxiety about this, pledging to limit immigrations from outside the EU. But now we know what he really thinks: anyone who expresses concern about immigration is a “bigot”.

His reaction also gives the lie to his claim that he wants to talk about the issues in this campaign. His first response after having to talk to a real person, as opposed to a Labour plant, is to blame an aide – for not having adequately gerrymandered the encounter.

This is an unscripted moment that will dominate the news cycle till the end of the day and is bound to come up in tomorrow’s debate. For Gordon Brown’s opponents – particularly David Cameron, who can now position himself as the only party leader who really shares the public’s anxiety over immigration – Christmas has come early this year.

Peter Mandelson: 'We're all human'

Peter Mandelson did a pretty gracious job, in the circumstances, of explaining away to Kay Burley on Sky News his master’s latest blunder.

Sounding like a disappointed vicar who has to give a sermon after vandals have broken his stained glass windows, he explained that ‘we’re all human’, that Mr Brown is a moral person who will deeply regret giving offence, that he is a man of ‘compassion’ and ‘fellow feeling’ and that Labour is the party that cares for people, listens to their problems etc etc.

‘We’re all human,’ he repeated, ’sometimes we do say things we don’t believe….’

Oh yes, interjected Ms Burley, ‘Then how do we know when we can believe the Prime Minister and when we can’t?’

Sharp work. It couldn’t get any worse, could it? Oh yes it could – Mr Brown is on his way to meet Gillian Duffy right now, to apologise to her in person. It’s called car crash TV.
------------------------------------------------

And it gets worse......

No joint pic – and stop calling her Gillian!

Well that went well didn’t it? Brown, plastered in white make-up, with his fixed grin cracking at the edges, has come out of Gillian Duffy’s house alone. So no photo opp, a garbled apology and he kept calling her ‘Gillian’, which she’ll probably find as rude as calling her bigoted.
