Imagine being pursued by one of these

Big Dog Walking 4-Legged Tank/Mule

I know robots can make cars and drop bombs, but I was pretty shocked to see what this machine can do (at least until its power source runs out).

BigDog robots operate on commands via remote control. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is considering plans such as weaponizing the Boston Dynamics BigDog robots and using them to carry extra gear to free Marines of the burden of extra weight.
Not eating, not sleeping... What if it had a power source recharged by moisture, or by some sort of transmitted power?

Big Dog Walking 4-Legged Tank/Mule

There's an even more amazing, later version, here RJ. Quite spectacular!

It looks a lot more fleet-footed than Gerald Ford or Neil Kinnock.

D'ya think they can ever make it as intelligent as GW Bush?

Bloody 'ell. How good is it on ice? If that's on the net, think where they must be with it now. It's probably got ears and everything.

To be honest, this invaluable peice of kit has been under development under a black programme, for more time than you might imagine.

Here is an earlier 2 legged version being trialed :-

Ah, fond memories.
The old analogue CC MK1 !!

Twas a bugger when it needed winding up ever 3 minutes.
and carrying around that huge key in the support cart was not very stealthy!

"Men we have encircle that village, total silence, no radio, no nothing. Those are not to know we are here! Where are our packs?"

"They are on the Bird Dog lieutenant, it still coming, listen you can hear it coming".

Not very quiet is it or have I just developed a problem with my sound system here?

Fingers crossed ...

RJM - What a contract for a couple of girls and a wasp in a jam pot! I bet Boston Dynamics have got their fingers crossed that it is too noisy for the military to pension off their bio-fuelled donkeys and place big number orders. Now about that invisibility suit for the president ....
