English to be the preferred language for European communications

European Union commissioners have announced that an agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German. As part of the negotiations, the British government conceded that English spelling has some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-year plan for what will become known as EuroEnglish.

In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c." Sertainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy. The hard "c" will be replaced by "k," klearing up konfusion.

In the sekond year, the troublesome "ph" will be replaced by "f." This will make works like "fotograf" 20% shorter. In the 3rd year, komplikated changes will be possible. Governments will enkorage the removal of double letters. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgrasful.

By the 4th year, people wil be reseptiv to replasing "th" wiht "z" and "w" with "v." During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and similar changes aplid to ozer kombinations of leters.

Und after ze fifz year, ve vil al be speking German lik zey vunted in ze forst plas.

Oh god, not again.....

HOW many times have we seen this in the last fifty years?

Boring, boring, boring.

But I grant you, it was funny the first time - although not the 34,785,109 times since then.
