Perhaps we should form the MCMLXV club? I for one would qualify!

To all those in the MCMLXV club, how do you deal with the dreaded "surprise 40th birthday party."

Should I act surprised if it takes place?

Should I be more surprised if it doesn't take place?

Am I a miserable gitt for asking?

Here's all of them from 1 to 3999.

The esoteric and protracted contretemps which occurred in 1998* is not mentioned of course

* debate regarding acceptable notations for next year (1999)
MIM - possibly OK, frowned on by purists
(I)I(I) - slight possibility
I(I)(I) - definite no-no
MCMIC - also out, my favourite though

Been under a bit of pressure to have one gingernut but have so far successfully avoided same.

If you get a suprise party, then act suprised & enjoy yourself, because there is obviously someone who cares a lot to throw it for you!

Do what Drapes did gingernut, told family and friends that if any supprises had been planned, parties ect, scrap them right now!, because Drapes would simply rotate on his heels and walk out, family and friends knowing Drapes well also knew, with certainty that this was no empty threat, ergo no supprise party.
