But Mr D's move was a little ambitious - under Postlethwaite's Posthumous Pedantic Preposition (1877), he is now utterly banned from visiting Mornington Crescent for the next 27 (check 'em! Count 'em!) games! He's just lucky he missed his turn else it would have been the next 416 games! My copy of PPPP (or P4) is so old I'd had to blow the cobwebs off it and I found a couple of dead moths, at least 70 years old, inside. It just goes to show what an astounding level of play we have reached when P4 has to be drawn from the shelf... No doubt these young whippersnappers haven't even heard of it, let alone are able to apply it correctly. Tsk tsk.

Anyway, to continue:

Now that is an interesting ruling, Mr Bear. I suspect that young Jordan will appeal to THE AUTHORITIES about that one. I checked with my copy of P4 and indeed you are correct. However, a quick glance at the 1936 Oslo accord seems to indicate that P4 may actually have been amended at the Teheran Mornington Crescent Festival of 1905. Unfortunately, all official records and precedents from that meeting were destroyed in a fire.

Anyway, while waiting for an appeal or adjudication, I will place a rumpled peg in the lower eighth and play

A few dead moths? Hah! That's nothing. One has found the dessicated remains of extinct species in one's own copy of P4.

Yes, it is indeed very interesting. However, did I mention that my grandfather's name was Postlethwaite? Hence my copy of P4 is, in fact, a first run and contains notes in the back stating that the Teheran Festival was ruled null and void by the Great Demonic Bear incident of 1908? I really don't see a way out for the poor, deluded lad. Any self declaration of invalidity of P4 will see him permanently expelled, too. King George himself decreed it!

Westferry, though, to continue play.

Nope. I can't win myself, but I can spoil it for SRT. A quick burst of

Elephant and Castle

and it leave Mr Twotter needing to perform a sideways glance at the circle line before he can go anywhere.
