'Cleared Take Off After'
Hi guys.
This clearance was being used in FCO yesterday along side 'keep the one ahead in sight' Is this a new type of clearance or a local variation....? Just curious. Thanks for any info. Grazie SD |
Under certain weather conditions I believe FCO TWR has always had the option of clearing you to take off while the previous traffic is still rolling, with the caution "maintain previous traffic in sight". As I recall it is used especially when northbound departures are alternated with southbound departures, especially when there is a queue forming for takeoff on 25.
Not sure if it is ICAO "approved"? Having said that every county has its regional variations from ICAO, including US, UK and France. MD |
I don't really fly to FCO very often, but I remember something about that in the airport briefing on the Jeppesen charts.
Only to be used with good weather conditions I believe, and with some other conditions. |

Thanks
:ok: Although - no mention of the 'radial' bit ! |
Si, ma usually they say "northbound" or "southbound" and even I can figure that out. :ok:
