Low hour jobs

Hi All,

anyone know if/when the likes of Logan, Blue islands, Emerald, Aurigny, TUI are opening up for low hours. I’ve just finished MCC (modular). Any pointers for other options out there, not eligible for BA. How many hours can you expect at these airlines etc. Any help / advice is appreciated. Thanks

Would also be interest in abroad anyone know anything on Cathay’s Second Officer? Or anything really. I’m U.K. CAA licence

Aurigny do sometimes I think, recently had a recruitment drive through Aeros. Not sure on the other but I think for them an FI rating is your ticket. TUI sometimes run a 500tt scheme but it’s competitive. Why are you not eligible for BA if you don’t mind me asking?

Not necessarily true about FIs at Aurigny. I passed with 220hrs TT and no FI rating.

Just to be clear, I meant in my previous post that Aurigny recently had a recruitment drive for low hour pilots from Aeros so yes it is indeed possible to get in with 220 hours. It was Loganair I referred to that seem to like FI as do Eastern.

Apply to WA, Eastern, Logan Air, Jet2, Blue Islands, Emerald, Aurigny, Wizz Air UK. Try and get some experience in the mean time volunteering on air ambulance, or at an aerodrome. Network and make plenty contacts. Do one of those interview preparation courses, but more importantly keep current in the simulator and flying light aircraft. Have your resume ready, your documents ready, your interview suit good to go and also a list of your address and what you have been doing these last 5 years along with three referees who can vouch for you.

I started volunteering on air ambulance with my fATPL and about 300 hours. This helped my application stand out. A few months later, I got a job flying turboprops, which was what I wanted and I had more than one offer. I also did a JOC course as most employers were looking for this. Enjoyed every minute and helped me be more confident in the simulator. I spent a few years flying turbo props and now flying jets.

Keep your ear to the ground, check out company websites to see who is recruiting and build up your network of contacts.

Just my two cents worth. Hope it helps. Wishing you the very best of luck.
