ctc ATP scheme

Anyone else going to the assessment on December 14th?

As a frozen ATPL holder I feel reluctant as most would after reading some of these posts, but then again, how would you feel if you had the chance and you didn't even try?!
Truth of the matter is, there aren't many training organisations working directly with aviation companies and providing placement for its students even if it is 2,3 or even 5 years after. At some point you have to face the fact that nowadays if you want to make a living flying you have to pay first...unless your father is a captain somewhere or you're married to the company's CEO's daughter...

That being said, after a year of emailing and delivering CVs personally (+1000 sent is not an exaggeration) on most aviation companies on a 1000km radius I'm going to try my luck at CTC's flexicrew scheme...solid FTO with actual proven results however expensive it is...

The problem in this Forum is : When somebody needs to complain about no jobs P2fly, time to loose, here he comes "bla bla bla, i got time to loose"

But when they find jobs, nobody come to testimony about schools and some programs

that's a pity

Books to prepare CTC

Hi everyone,

From what I have understood during the interviews we can be tested on our aeronautical general knowledge.

Would you have any book you would recommend? (for basics knowledge)

Thank you very much in advance.

Apitu 16th Jan 2016 14:30

I don't think aeronautical general knowledge refers to aeronautical history, more likely to flight principles, type of planes(wide/naraw, type of engines, etc.)...

ced0802 16th Jan 2016 15:53

Yes these kind of books I would like to buy. But not too complexe.

cefey 17th Jan 2016 04:12

I would assume EASA ATPL theory cover most of it and some more

Lew747 17th Jan 2016 09:36

No there were no technical questions in my interview. Just your passion for wanting to be a pilot and joining the industry. How you as a pilot can improve customer experience and improve efficiency of an airline. Had my interview a couple months ago and this is what was covered. Hope that helps :)

LlamaFarmer 17th Jan 2016 13:20

You are being interviewed to give them the best part of £10k and that doesn't guarantee you a job.

So the interview process is pretty easy really... it's nearly all competency-based... "when have you shown leadership/adaptability/resilience" etc.

Once you pass, pay your £10k, and do the MCC... THEN if your training report is good enough (i.e. average or better) they will stick you into the hold pool behind all their modular and integrated pilots. So you're in the 3rd priority group behind all those. And they've got around 200 integrated people a year going through.

Does anybody know what the going rate for a TR with EZY is these days?

LlamaFarmer 18th Jan 2016 14:25

£30k apparently.

I hear EZY will secure the loan (if you're approved for it and joining them through CTC) but then you have other living costs, such as 2 months accommodation and food.

FlyVeryHigh- 18th Jan 2016 16:09

I heard it was £9,000 for EZY.

Could be wrong though; but that's what it was when I checked around September time.

Flaplesslanding 18th Jan 2016 17:26

30k sounds like a much more accurate rate than 9k. Certainly if you are going through one of the integrated schools anyway. LlamaFarmer's post basically nails it!

MaverickPrime 18th Jan 2016 19:14

:{ I remember hearing a few years ago it was 30k, still the same then by the looks of it. I'll factor it in to my sums :}

Boldpilot2000 11th Jun 2016 00:57

I have been invited to the test. Any current info on the process and what to prepare? Is it similar to the CTC White Tail assessment?

Boldpilot2000 29th Jun 2016 03:40

Is it the same as the CTC Wings process?

llama farmer that's correct. just in terms of the hold pools, if you do well enough to get into easyJet then you'll be out of the pool in no time. don't get into easyJet and you could be in there a while...Ryanair seems to be pot luck at best.

Is it the same as the CTC Wings process?
Boldpilot, yes it is. Search through the CTC Wings thread for more info on the assessment.

centropy 9th Jul 2016 09:14

EZY TR used to be £32,500 but perhaps it has gone down...........

Someone I know just got placed after 3 years in the hold pool.

gruikdofus 8th May 2017 19:04

Anyone going on 11th may ?

kjcj 24th Nov 2017 11:03

Hi all,

Does anyone of you all know what sort of questions we'd be getting for the one-on-one interview. If so please help me, because I'm going to attend one in the future.

Thanking in advance
Kj
