joey7415963 8th Oct 2023 09:42

Were you sent that today? Did you get a BA email before that?

LHRport 8th Oct 2023 17:20

Strange that I selected Skyborne as preferred but my application now says FTE Jerez

I was sent maybe 4 days ago. Has to be completed for the 10th, I done it this morning. It’s the Aon test like you’ve probably done for the rest of the airlines.

Ah thanks, was getting hopeful, still haven't heard back 😭

I've had similar to the above. Email from BA saying I was successful and to expect to be contacted by Skyborne.

I then had the link to Skyborne Aon tests to be completed by the 10th. I also had a further personal email from a Skyborne rep congratulating on getting to this stage etc...

Yeah exactly that. Good luck to you!

can I reapply in March because it says I have to wait 6 months from this date? Very disappointed 😞

My rejection just came through... Did it definitely say from this date? Mine says from date of application, with the application date being September rather than October potentially puts March in play.

Thank you for your application for the role of Speedbird Pilot Academy at British Airways. We greatly appreciate the time and effort you've put in.

Unfortunately, after careful consideration, we've decided not to progress your application on this occasion. We appreciate this may be disappointing news, but regret we're unable to enter into further correspondence about our decision.

Should you wish to try again for the same or a similar role, you will need to wait six months from the date of this email. However, you can apply for a different role at any time.

Thank you once again for your interest in joining British Airways.

Best wishes,

Ritu Kapur
Talent Acquisition Manager

This is what it said

6 months from the application date. I am yet to see anything about BA opening again in March, webinars said annually.

From the FAQ:
How many years do you anticipate running the scheme?
Our intension is to run a cadet scheme each year, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Obviously lots of rejections going out this morning :( out of interest, did anyone who selected “no preference” for skyborne vs FTE get through? Seems like those who did express a preference were streamed to the FTO’s selection process quite promptly after the video assessment. Probably not a factor, but you never know!

I put no preference and was put to FTE, so not sure if the choice actually impacts anything

Oh well, good to know. Good luck to those continuing. Fingers crossed the next application window is open past March 19th for the rest of us!

Speedy pilots 9th Oct 2023 10:20

I picked Skybourne .And was rejected. Does anyone know if I can reapply in March if my last email saying I could reapply was 6 months after 6th of October

Closing date & time:

The Skyborne email appears to be a little ambiguous by stating 'Please complete the tests by no later than midnight on Tuesday 10 October 2023'

Is that by 23:59 tonight, Monday 9th, or 23:59 Tues 10th?

Any data as opposed to opinions please?

At least the BA emails specified which its was, with clarity of '23:59 xxx date'

Midnight on Tuesday would be tomorrow night is how I would read that? If it was tonight it would say midnight on Monday I’d have thought. But then I wouldn’t be leaving it until the final day unless I had no other choice. I prefer to get things done as you never know what could potentially crop up and scupper your plans if you’ve left it till the last day.
