Wertytg 3rd Dec 2019 14:15

Last time around they were calling people a week or so before the interview dates to invite them - so don't expect much notice.

And what was the interview format? Did you get the position?

Glad to see I’m not the only one having received the “unsuccessful email” because I was not able to go to Dublin with one week notice only while working...

I did retry this year but I expect the same to happen anyway. But all the winners tried so who knows!

Not heard anything neither yet.

Banana Joe 15th Dec 2019 08:57

I couldn't go as well last year, but at least I advised them and they appreciated it.

Wertytg 17th Dec 2019 15:17

So they will contact us the 5th of january more or less?
How much you have to pay for the assesment and the sim,is it hold in a a320? Do they also notify the unsuccessfull applicants in the same period of time?

Any news so far?

When I did the interview early in 2019:

Group exercise - build a lego model as a team
Group exercise - discuss various topics as a group in front of assessors

Some people got dropped at this stage

Interview - Two pilots, one HR. Some of the usual HR competency-type questions, "soft" technical questions from the pilots (mostly CRM-type stuff).

Some people then got invited to the sim in the afternoon, most didn't. It may be that some candidates got invited back to the sim at a later date, I don't know as I wasn't .....

Sim used was a 737.

No charge for the assessment. Group exercises in the morning, interviews and sims in the afternoon. Once you had finished your interview the brief was "don't go anywhere, we will call you before 5pm if we want you in the sim". I didn't get a call so went home. Got an email a couple of months later saying "no thanks".

#MeToo

Hello all,

Greetings. I'm in the same boat as a lot on this thread. Applied on the "before 18th" intake. Did all the online shenanigans, videos, mathematics, flying through tubes, etc.

Havent heard anything back. No confirmation emails. Noted that the Assessments (should we pass the online filter / cut) will be (start?) on the 13th January apparently.

I have heard in the past that you dont get much notice. Which can be a real pain if you're not local and need to travel.

If anyone does hear back, please do post something on what was said and how they reached you (phone, email, smoke signals, etc).

Good luck to all.

SJ.

Aer Lingus use the 737 sim in Simtech for assessments. If you're Airbus rated they'll use the a320 sim.

If anyone has any indication if those dates (second week in Jan) that they had mentioned on the website might still apply, please let us know. I just remembered that they extended the application deadline which may affect the processing times and subsequently the assessments. I am trying to preempt and plan a little.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

shamrocky 20th Dec 2019 16:32

Huge increase (double) in applications this year.Only about 10 percent will be invited to the assessment centres. Calls will start next week and continue the following two weeks. Assessments centres take place as advertised in Jan. Good luck to all in the process.

Oblivion67 20th Dec 2019 20:08

Well that's something.

Appreciate the info, thanks!
