North American Pilots in Europe?
I have seen some posts like this around the forum but i'd like to ask myself, with my cercumstances. I am a Canadian citizen who hasn't started flight training or University yet (Pretty well fresh out of high school.) But if possible i'd really like to do my training and possibly get a job in Europe. I know it is very expensive over there but I do have the money available to me. A lot of people have said that it is next to impossible to get jobs as an airline pilot over there without citizenship but I don't need to work for an airline right away. I'm sure that with the proper licenses from a European flight school I can maybe get a job as a flight instructor and spend enough time in country to gain the status that I can apply for an airline or corporate company there.
I know it may be challenging but I am up for it. Please reply with and opinions good or bad as well as suggestions on a course of action I should take. |
If you have an EASA license and a Working permit / residence visa it should be possible. You can also get your EASA license in the states (and possibly Canada). Too be sure I would try to get a school where you can do both EASA and FAA/CAA license at the same time.
Other option is joining UPS / FedEx (easier said than done) as they have pilots based in Europe flying European routes... #openskies ;) |
All you need is the right to work in Europe, exactly the same right a European would need to work in Canada.

There is also the option to work for an EU airline but via a manpower service provider...in this way the airline wont hire you directly, (thus no need for resident permit or Work visa) rather they will ask the agency to provide manpower

Hi! Lynx320
Is it also for Japanese? If you know some good a manpower service provider, can you tell me information about them? |
