Primera Air?

Hi Everyone,

I got an e-mail yesterday about being selected for a 737 NG course in January next year.

It runs for around a month an a half and it's set up with Primera Air. It is however a P2F course where there is some suggestion of a possible job offer after or during the course.
Ultimately it's a big risk and there is no guarantee of a job after the training is complete, they did say that 75% of their pool was taken up this year for the summer season.

Anyone have any feedback on Primera Air and how they run there outfit?

Any constructive feedback would be helpful, just looking into seeing if anyone else has gone through this scheme with Primera?

Cheers!

Same here I also got the email. And I have the same questions.

- I know a few guys flying there as low hour FO but they all got in by other companies having already attained the type somewhere else.
non of them is able to say if this is a good way to get in. The problem is that on the end there are going to be a few guys that payed the type but will have no job.
I am still undesided.

anyone else got the mail or answers?

Hey guys,

I also applied for the self sponsored TR, but expected something in relation to RyanAir, where you are a little more secure on the employment afterwards.

... And I didn't get an email from them.

Can you inform me about your qualifications? Do you have a little more than 250 hrs?

My 2 cents without inside knowledge of this company:

If it's a SSTR followed by a guaranteed P2F of at least 500 hours, it's amoral but may get you over the "real job threshold". Decide for yourself if you want/need to do it.

If it's a SSTR without guaranteed hours, it's amoral and an utter waste of money. A TR without at least 500 hours is of absolutely no use - just check the job ads.

I also applied in Primera.

No way you can contact them. Though got via custommerservice an e mail adress of one of the guys of training department. Send them an e mail because did not hear anything.

No answer. Not much info to find.

You pay for rating and afterwords you have then 737 Rating with a MAYBE for a job in Primera.
Not P2F. Just selfsponsored rating.

Anyway. I now do somewhere else my 737 300/900 rating.

Thanks for the reply everyone.

I am sorry that some of you didn't hear anything but I think in certain situations - it's just pure luck on where your C.V. lands.

I have Total time = 1650, Multi = 533 and around 1400 PIC.

Anyone else with a similar background?

Cheers!

Be very careful with Primera Air and this Program where they promise to take you after....
Remember Primera Air is not what was years ago...now is almost totally under Latvians and hope you understand the rest!

Primera type rating course. DONT DO IT!!!!!!

Primera has now started with their own TR courses and apparently 2016/17 course 13 out of 35 got hired......mostly pilots from Denmark who knew the TRIīs got the job! During groundschool students were told 85% of the course students or everyone were needed for the summer to spread the word. Fully qualified pilots with 1000 to 2000+ hrs didīt get the job after completed TR. HQ in Riga was really badly organised and interviewer barely speaks english. Primera have found a new way to earn some cash;)

New course starting in fall 2017! Latvian AOC! You can figure out the rest!

Best regards
