Thank you for the useful info Krapouk and Scagrams.

In the meantime I contacted BAA and they asked me if I wanted to do the assessment. They didn't mention anything about being for eastern countries locals only.

Do you think they want me to take the assessment first and only then they will tell me that I am not eligible if not from eastern countries?
Why would they do that?

Also, if you had to stay overnight, may I ask you what kind of accommodation did you find and for what budget?

Thanks again guys!

Scagrams 12th Oct 2016 08:26

In a remarkable turn of event, Western people are allowed again apparently... Just received an email telling me my application was finally still going on..
What's happening at Wizzair HQ?!
Anyway I'm taking this opportunity...
So you may just go for the assessment as well. I slept at the Green Vilnius Hotel, which was quite cheap (compared to Western standards) and of good quality. Plus you have a shuttle to the Academy at 9:30am directly from the hotel.

krapouk 12th Oct 2016 08:31

Ok guys finally things are moving a bit, I received a mail yesterday saying that I have got a final interview with WizzAir within few weeks :)

And in the mail they exactly say :

"we would like to sincerely apologize for the misinterpreted communication of Wizz Air’s policies you were informed on recently"

So I guess that finally even us west pilot are ok to get position with them.

Scagrams did you receive that too ?

Pilot43 12th Oct 2016 10:21

Congratulations Scagrams and Krapouk!

Krapouk if the interview with WizzAir is going to be in few weeks, that means you're going to miss the course starting on the 24th of October. Wouldn't it be in their interest to allow you to start on the 24th?

Scagrams are you starting on the 24th of October?
I guess Green Vilnius Hotel is the same used for long term accommodation, how much did it cost per night?

Scagrams 12th Oct 2016 11:49

I'm having the last interview in a few weeks as well so probably not starting on the 24th..
40€~ per night the green hotel :)

krapouk 12th Oct 2016 12:23

Pilot43, In fact they have multiple dates to start the training, 24th October, 1st December, and also 1st February. In my case I already choose February with BAA, personally because as a freelance I want to properly finish my work with my customer, and it's easier for me to prepare anything prior my departure.

Pilot43 12th Oct 2016 13:07

Thanks for the info Scagrams and Krapouk.
Scagrams, did you book by yourself or through BAA?

Actually I was thinking about what would be the best date to start, here's my thoughts:

On one side of course it would be better not to be in a rush. I still myself have to do the assessment so starting in December or February would allow for less pressure.

On the other side I also think that Wizz Air will offer a position on a first come first served basis, therefore starting as soon as possible would put you in a better position than those starting later.

At this moment Wizz Air seems to be in need for pilots, but when they'll feel they'll have enough (consider also those that will finish CTC and CEFA courses) they could offer worse conditions to the latest arrived, i.e. they could sponsor the TR to the first courses and not to the latest.

What's your opinion?

krapouk 12th Oct 2016 13:22

Indeed if you are able to start your training sooner, you may ensure to have a position with WizzAir. However I guess that after the last interview with WizzAir, if they want us because we fit to the company, it won't change so much to start in February instead of December, knowing that with the shortage of pilots they plan to have, the need of pilots will last for some time.

I think like you, don't wanna rush to get there, I want to prepare myself correctly, on the other hand my goal is to sign my contract with them as soon as possible.

1) Profile XT
2) English test
3) Compass test
4) BAA interview
If you succeed this far, there is one last step:
5) Wizzair HR interview

Hi guys,

Congratulations !

Could you please give us more details about the assessment ? How can we be well prepared ?
Is it similar to CTC or CAE selections ? Thanks for your tips ! :)

Pilot43 13th Oct 2016 18:13

Krapouk, Scagrams,
could you please tell us more about the assessment at BAA?
What was the physics involved? What the maths?
Which are the most difficult questions and tests you remember?
Thank you

Scagrams 13th Oct 2016 20:22

Yep Krapouk, I did also receive the message. No dates for the final interview just yet. Send me a PM if you're able, and give me your Skype/email/whatever so we may talk if you want.
Pilot43, I did the hotel booking by myself, though I was suggested to go there by BAA because it would be more convenient for transport and everything.
Well basically maths and physics are just what you would normally expect out of the other flight schools, so basic maths but you have to think fast (15 questions in 15 minutes) and regarding the physics, I'd say something like A levels (I'm not sure though as I'm french!)
Good luck :)

Pilot43 14th Oct 2016 09:22

Actually Scagrams I never did any test in other flight schools, this would be my first one... nor am I british, so I don't know what kind of physics is A level...
are you required to solve physics problems? Do they ask you physics formulas?
I'd greatly appreciate if you can tell some example of the most difficult that you remember, so to see if I could have done it. Thanks!

krapouk 14th Oct 2016 10:08

Salut Scagrams ;-)

Sur ton profil je peux pas t'écrire, c'est bloqué. Tu peux m'envoyer un MP stp, que je te file mon tel ? Ca sera plus simple pour discuter ^^

Pilot43, don't be afraid, even for me this was the really first assessment and honestly it's was sooooooo easy ;)
My advice is to prepare yourself with this => Compass Test Preparation Software for Pilots-Latest Pilot Jobs

Personally I took the "Three Months" subscription to have access to most training exercises, and it fit correctly the assessment.

However even looking on internet I was able to find a lot of "compass test free" or "trial" for Maths and Physics which are really ok !! Paying the training will help you for one or two simulator tests.

P40Warhawk 14th Oct 2016 11:28

For long term stay during training you could also find cheap apartments. When you share an apartment with more of your classmates you may have to pay around 100-200 eu a month. That is a lot cheaper then staying in hotel. That is how I did it during training when I was in Lithuania.

For apartments check Nekilnojamo turto skelbimai - Aruodas.lt or Parduodami butai, namai, sklypai - nekilnojamas turtas Lietuvoje | Domoplius.lt . Usually those apartments are with furniture .

Good luck to you guys. I wish I had that opportunity back then in 2011 when I started training at BAA, but happy for you guys and wish you all the luck. Wizz is growing and a very succesful LCC in Eastern Europe. And guys, stay focussed, Wizz has to many good looking flight attendants ;) . So if you have a girlfriend, better not tell about that :P .

Hi there , I took the assessment as well and I was told that they are going to send my results to wizz air and I will be noticed by mail whether or not I am going to attend the last interview with Wizz Air.

How many days did it take you guys to receive that mail?

Good luck for the interview by the way ;)

Scagrams 15th Oct 2016 13:34

Krapouk, je t'ai envoyé un email, je peux pas te MP.
Pilot43, I sent you a pm!
Jim94, I was told last Tuesday that I'd have my interview with Wizzair, and I was in Vilnius on 21/22 September, if that gives you an idea.

Profile XT

Scagrams, Pilot43 and anyone who have already done the assesment.
Can you give some details about the profile XT test and the English grammar test?
Is those tests are frontal? is it an American tests?

Thank you all guys ;)

Jim94 18th Oct 2016 11:27

jetdreamer88

The profile XT is in your own native language. Is divided in 6 sections and as regards math it's not timed so you'll have all the time to relax and take your time before answering. As regards the psychological part is based on behavioral questions, apparently on your scores will be based some questions during the interview. Have a look on the internet, you can find some samples. Personally I think that the Compass mathematical part is quite elemantary , but you got to be very very quick and you are only allowed a pen and a paper block.
The english test is timed and you got classic grammar based questions.
Good luck!!

JetDreamer88 18th Oct 2016 18:24

Jim hi,
Thank you for quick response.
About the Profile XT test, are you sure its in my native language?
It's an opened or closed questions?
Do you have a Psychometric test also?

Thanks alot.

Jim94 24th Oct 2016 19:24

They are all closed questions. I am pretty sure there is also your native language, anyway you can check it on the pofile xt site.
Psychonometric tests are included in the COMPASS TEST, not in the Profile XT.
Good luck
