Syntax, how would that work? :O

Skipping Classes 17th Mar 2016 04:22

Yes, but why would the management get a bonus for hiring less pilots?

Ivor Fynn 17th Mar 2016 08:37

Simple, if they can get the work done by their workforce whilst running 5 Capt below their establishment (discretion/days off) then they have saved money. Bonuses all round!

Does anyone have latest experience with an Wizz assessment?

Please send me an PM :) Thank you so much!

cefey 1st Apr 2016 02:09

Syntax Error, why did you apply for WizzAir and accept the job, if they are such a horrible place to be?
You did know about schedule, commuting, wage, bond? I assume, you are not stupid and you did read the contract, before you did sign it, didnīt you?

What did stop you from getting job at (wherever your are from) and staying at home? No commuting, great TCs, great wage, no EE mentality?

Really, why did you accept the contract, if they are such a horrible place? Are you into BDSM and wanted to be punished or something?

cefey 3rd Apr 2016 01:17

No reason to be rude and tell me to shut up (in Norwegian). You donīt know me personally, perhaps, you should avoid this kind of language then?
However, seeing how you treat company that gave you TR, hours, career - Iīm not surprised.

Syntax Error
What they give you to sign, what they tell you, was not the same as what happen.
Did you do any research at all?
If you didnīt - thatīs one on you, donīt blame it on company.
If you did - you knew what you was getting and thought it was still a great deal. No reason to be so negative then.

Syntax Error
why I did it, well now I have several thousand hours on A320
Exactly my point. So donīt be such an @-hole. After all they paid for your TR, gave you first job (when everyone else told you to gtfo), LHF, experience and carrier. Be ******* thankful for that. Ever heard that word before?

You know, I will always have respect for people who calls Wizzs TCs (or any other company) BS and walks away, without signing the contract. Or even saying goodbye, after they discover "the truth". But you... I hope never to be in a same company as you. Let alone to share a cockpit.

I wish you all the luck and happiness you can get, mate. I will not engage in any further conversation with you. This thread is not about you, despite you spamming it with exactly same post, for 15 pages now.

Skipping Classes 3rd Apr 2016 06:57

OH MY GOD Cefey!

Really, you need to grow up. I guess you are right, there is no need to be rude and getting personal, but Syntax is right that you have no idea what you are talking about.

No company these days will do you any favour, such as giving you a type rating (which Wizz air doesn't do anyway - you have to pay for it yourself one way or another) unless they absolutely have to.

They are giving the opportunities for non-rated pilots only, I say again ONLY, because nobody else would work for them. They can't upgrade enough FO's from within the company because the pilots are leaving and the FO's are also leaving the company even just before the upgrade if they get a chance at something better. You might not see it around you, or not at this particular time, or just not yet, but you certainly will see it if you stick for a while.

You are now talking like Syntax was a homeless refugee child illegally coming out of a poor third world country and Wizz Air was the good guy who took the child in and let him do the dishes and clean toilets so later he would have a chance to have a working permit. Therefore Syntax must thank Wizz?

And the people who think like you are the exact perfect match for Wizz.

Just accept that there are people who have self-respect.

PS And there is no need to go over and over all the facts, however just one thing I will never forget:

When Bucharest cabin crew has registered a fully legitimate labour union in 2014 what did Wizz Air do?

They just fired all those who joined the union. And the rest of the cabin crew went on their knees and started to beg the base manager to believe them that they never were associated with the guys who were fired in first place.

And the pilots? Just looked the other way.

This alone was a reason enough for me to resign.

Skipping Classes 3rd Apr 2016 07:09

Those who have missed that - this really hits the nail on its head:

The Ryanair Pilot Conundrum #HelloJack 2

The Ryanair Pilot Conundrum #HelloJack 3

...and I hope Wizz will be in time to close and burry their Confair business before anybody notices it at the high-enough level

Skipping Classes

Look, I never claimed to know the truth. Neither did I say that WizzAir is a perfect company, did I?

Should a pilot be thankful for getting a job to fly for WizzAir/Ryanair/Norwegian/etc getting 1000€ a month (or like someone said, McDonalds pay)?
Yes, in my opinion, when alternative is working at McDonalds for that money, NOT getting TR and NOT getting hours.

They are giving the opportunities for non-rated pilots only, I say again ONLY, because nobody else would work for them.
It work both ways. WizzAir hire those pilots, only because nobody else would give them work. Both parts exploit one another, both parts getting a great deal out of it.
Do WizzAir offer great conditions? Probably not, compared to some other companies.
Do ntr pilots with 300TT in c-152 offer that much to WizzAir? Not exactly a Top-Gun, no.

My point is, no body is forcing no one to sign a contract, neither to stay with any company. However, if you do so, for whatever reason, you should have self-respect and dignity, by not spreading sh*t about them, hiding behind the internet.

To stay somehow on topic. Do you know what happened to Ryanair pilots union? They were forming something, but then I lost track of it.

SoundLesS 3rd Apr 2016 12:38

Its incredible how much BS you guys can make in 15 pages, why do we not rename the thread "****talk about Wizz Air by Syntax Error and Skipping Classes", who by the way, not many people liked to fly with in the days, and after reading the comments here, no wonder.

To get back on track for new people:

Wizz Air is a Hungarian Company, formed by a CEO who did not want to have MALEV conditions with Unions etc. hence if you try to form any, then you are out. Simple and known since the start.

Fatigue was and still is present, but honestly as we have seen recently, this is present in many LCC and even in some dubai companies, again aviation has been moving towards more flying hours in the past years, nothing new. Recently with the new EU rules, things have changed. Do we like it? No...Can we do anything about it without unions? No...What if you say something? Then you get a verbal warning probably. Those are know facts, so better shut up. Is it good to shut up? no...but since you decided to join the company, you decided to join it with the T/C that you were presented with, so do not come after that and complain, then just leave and find something better.

Wizz Air is an EEC mentality airlines, and run by some, not all, corrupt people in the pilot and the cc department, sadly, and corrupt people hire corrupt people under them so that will not change. You just have to fly, do you job, and go home to your family and that is it.

As it being an EEC airline, the salary is corresponding to something from those countries. You will not get a Norwegian or a British salary here, forget it. Again you know about it, nothing new, just leave then if you are not happy.

Many airlines are doing dodgy methods when it comes to salaries, see Ryanair fx, and now also Norwegian with their many new contract agencies...however Wizz Air now has local contracts in every country, which at least is a step in the right direction.

You join Wizz Air, if you are a local pilot who wants to fly and live like a king in your home country, or if you are a cadet level pilot or if you want to get back to EU after some time abroad. If you want to get 10K in salary each month and get picked up by a limo before the flight and get free coffee on every sector, then dont join.

You can call all this prostitution or whatever, but at the end of the day, you fly in brand new aircrafts, with a decent salary for where you are living(net in cash at the end of the month) with good maintenance and flying with some good collegues. Get the hours and experience and then bail the ship if you fancy something else. Wizz Air is mainly the start, not the end for many pilots, and it will probably remain like that, unless you are local.

Syntax Erorr ... please spare us of your BS, PLEASE!!!:yuk::yuk::yuk:

Skipping Classes 3rd Apr 2016 14:05

You know what's funny? You guys are getting all worked up and personal because you don't like to hear the facts.

I don't see anybody here protesting that whatever was said about Wizz Air was incorrect; you just tell us that saying these facts publically is somehow saying '****' about Wizzair and is not appropriate.

Please if you want to tell me that anything I said about Wizzair is factually incorrect - do that, I would be glad to discuss it.

Otherwise you are just angry that somebody thinks that **** smells bad, while you love it.

Skipping Classes 3rd Apr 2016 15:31

And yes, to get us back on track, the point here is that the reason our terms and conditions have deteriorated so much and the reason the companies get away with everything - is us, pilots, letting them do that.

And as long as you think its all O.K. - things will be getting worse.

JaxofMarlow 3rd Apr 2016 16:05

SoundLesS. Your post leaves me open mouthed with incredulity. I just cannot believe that someone is actually defending on the basis of "if you don't like it don't come." Your comments about unions (your out if want one) and internal corruption are frightening because you seem to think this is OK - unless I am misunderstanding you. Thankfully I have never needed and never will need Wizz or the likes and your comments have just reinforced this. If I needed any reason to vote for UK out, this is it. Awful and worrying post.

sascha410 3rd Apr 2016 16:12

Syntax Error...you are full of BS and talking about thinks that you have no knowledge what so ever. And ones again, please will you be so kind to stop poisning here. You maide your point. Stop it. it is more than enough.

JaxofMarlow 3rd Apr 2016 16:18

The point though sascha410 is that he does know. It is for the likes of you to establish your credibility and to say why he is wrong and so far all anyone has come up with is "if you don't like it stay away".

Frankly speaking it would be great if you could tell us on what points User like Syntax Error or Skipping classes are wrong. Always getting personal doesn't improve the discussion climate.....

sascha410 3rd Apr 2016 16:38

The point is that he expressed himself so many times and nothing new is coming out of his mouth anymore. Nobody is trying to correct him in his views neither to argue on his experience with Wizz. Taking into account how many people are leaving the company he is not alone with those views.

What is quiet annoying is that he does not give this room to other people, to people that have other views and experience with the same company and he goes on the person instead of on the ball. I personally know people in Wizz that never had those issues in the company that he is talking about. Do they deserve to be called all ugly words that he is using? Not from my point of view...

And when I look at it better he fits there like a glove. Only in Eastern EU one can see so much negativity, bitterness, insults, bad language, attitude like he is expressing here on pprune so I hope that he will really have plenty of time more to enjoy it…

As you said JaxoM: "if you don't like it stay away" ; I will stay away. It is much nicer without his comments.

So that's where we are at as a "profession": it's not quite as bad as working at McDonalds.

A bit of an unfair comparison really, bearing in mind that McDonalds abide by relevant working regulations, offer a decent and competitive salary, a well defined career structure etc.

Still, while there are starry eyed idiots ready to prostitute themselves to the airlines, while believing that it's acceptable to accept "€1000 a month" to act as second in command of a jet transport aeroplane, comparing pilot terms and conditions favourably to those of fast food service staff will quickly become a mere pipe dream.

FlightDetent 3rd Apr 2016 21:37

Wizzair asked 13k, cash no bond. Or offered to pay and bond for 11k.
