Anyone has any information about their A320 Type Rating Program and Line Training?

AlexanderH 28th Sep 2012 08:01

Haven't heard of them before.

I know I'm always picky about this but the use of the English language on that site is rather sloppy. Should give you a good indication as to their professionalism. Mind you CaFalconAviation hasn't got the best website in the world either and they are semi-decent.

AlexanderH 28th Sep 2012 08:03

Actually I do remember these characters. I recognise the name. Weren't they asking for €100 up front or something like that just for information?

magicmick 28th Sep 2012 09:58

Hi Alexander, perhaps you’re thinking of one of these 2:

http://pilotschemea320andb737.********.co.uk/ (195 euros up front).

http://a320and737linetraining.********.co.uk/ (119 euros up front).

The linetraining.net A320 type rating does seem a good price 22,500 euros for groundschool, sim, base check, transport and accommodation in Rome is low compared to many in Europe and they do want all money transferred to them before the course starts. That alone would start alarm bells ringing in my head (but I am rather cynical by nature).
I am not passionately pro or anti self funded ratings and/ or hours on type but I would hate to see someone lose a huge sum of money.

AlexanderH 28th Sep 2012 14:35

I stand corrected.

FlyingDumbells 28th Sep 2012 15:52

lol for their type rating course.

''Step 1 - 80 hours of Self Study with CBT and Manuals - 4 days''.......20 hours a day then, good planning.

phone call

I guys, I received a phone call from them. final cost is over 64.000-Eur.
This is pay to fly.... I am not willing to do this :=
They didn't tell me with which company you will make the line training.

Turkpilot1 24th Oct 2012 17:02

Linetraining.net

Guys,

I just want to know if this company is legitimate or not. I'm in touch with them to do a Type Rating.

According to their website you must pay the full amount before starting the course (7days) prior. Read below:

Payment Schedule:
Enrollment: 3.200,00 Euro - 20% of Simulator price 16.000,00 Euros - In order to receive the course materials
Final Fee: 19.300,00 Euro - 7 business days prior to course start

My last type rating I did, (very reputable TRTO) few years ago I didn't pay the full amount. I made half at the beginning of the course, and the remaining at the end of type rating course.

It is strange they ask for all the money before starting the course.

Has anyone gone through this company. Are they trustworthy!!

Thank you

aozc 24th Oct 2012 20:34

Remember the golden rules:

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

NEVER PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT!

Any serious business will be able to have a pay as you go scheme. Once the money is transferred and the paper is signed you're worth jack s... any complaints will cause you trouble and if you don't have the guts to make such a deal with this much on stake, the aviation market is probably nothing for you.

markB777 25th Oct 2012 18:23

Hi All, maybe this will help....I have did my MCC with oxford-ryanair, they have asked me all the money upfront! :-)
I did the type rating with linetraining.net, they asked me upfront, I thought...a big risk :\ ....but finally, everything went fine, well done type rating and experienced instructor. I have choose them because I had the opportunity to met them before start my training as they are based in my same country, Italy. :ok:

truckflyer 27th Oct 2012 22:48

You are fools to do this, I mean why?

You want it as hobby to fly a jet? 500 hours will NOT get you a job! Well maybe get 1 of 1000 a job, you feeling lucky? :ugh:

ufon 28th Oct 2012 11:01

well... there was a company in Sicily that was asking that amount of money for type and line training... so I was thinking you were speaking about this company :O

markB777 28th Oct 2012 18:33

Hi truckflyer, no I'm not feeling luck, I have just did the type rating with them...I still want to wait a bit to take the "fatal" decision of a line training package :( my post was just to assure others that is not a scam :)

I-RICK 15th Nov 2012 17:42

Hi guys!

I just say one thing... I did my first A320 type rating on April with them in Rome and all stuffs gone great!Like you, I was not sure before the start of the course but then I met the organizers and I was surspised for the good organization of theory and sim sessions. I had as TRI the old chief pilot of TAP and good airline pilot for theory.
Is not easy to pay someone you don't know but it is a good trto! Go with them!

No RYR for me 16th Nov 2012 08:08

I Rick: there is only question... Was there a job at the end or have you just blown the money for the fun of it?

I-RICK 16th Nov 2012 09:26

I did only type rating, cause mine was the first course organized by linetraining.net....Now I have to give way to the students who pay for the whole package! but probably in the near future i'll pay for a line training..:\
Unfortunely guys with type only we can't fly, nowadays airlines asking for 500 hrs on type...

pepsBDX33 16th Nov 2012 09:31

Because you think with only 500hrs it will be better ? :ugh:

I-RICK 16th Nov 2012 11:45

guys! there are many collegues and my friends that once done 500 hrs on type have found a job! Asian airlines, qatar airways etc...

pakythepilot 16th Nov 2012 20:03

I guess is talking about the 45000 euro for the atpl frozen + 23000 euro for the type + 45000/50000 for the line training and you ended up paying 120000 euro. the price of a tiny house.

aozc 17th Nov 2012 12:12

In Europe no one will recruit you with 500hrs today. In the ME and far East they want much more. Maybe in Africa?

truckflyer 17th Nov 2012 21:28

500 hours on type?

I think you have a better chance to get a job than a person with 0 hours on type.

But also I think depends what kind of flying it was, with or without safety pilot for part of those 500 hours. Heard stories of companies doing this with safety pilot during all the training, what value does it have than?

I-RICK 20th Nov 2012 10:13

for sure you will have a better chance to get a job than one with no hour on type.
I think that the company you're speaking about is a turkish one...right?
Anyway the most important requirment for airliner is the amount of hours on type, the total filght time is important but not necessary..

500 above 20th Nov 2012 11:07

I-RICK, are you for real? Total time means nothing now, does it? You, no doubt will pay for 500 hours on type and will still not have a job. There are pilots with thousands of hours on jet types with no jobs - mostly because of people like you who will pay to play for 250/500 hours, doing time served experienced pilots out of work. At the end of the 500 hours, you will be out and the next wet behind the ears SSTR/LT takes your seat.

FWIW, Qatar have hired crews without any jet time or ratings. As have DHL, flybe etc. All want total time, not time on type. All pay you (novel, isn't it?) to do the rating and WORK for them...

No RYR for me 22nd Nov 2012 08:11

I don't know what planet you are from but my experience is that with low hours you still have to pass the same entry tests at the career airline that most people want to go to as people without a TR. So you can buy a TR, buy the hours (flown generally by crappy airlines with shoddy procedures), increase your debt big time and still NOT being hired.... Smart move! :=

unflownsky 23rd Nov 2012 09:33

Guys, still the old joyful song of P2F...
I often tell to my students to keep the dad's business running smooth because they will need roughly 160K euro to put their butt on the right seat of an airlininer...and still will not be sure to have a salary at the end of the month...
BUT : there are no other chances other than these : either the money, or the connections. Apart from the very rare airlines sponsored schemes...
This job is becoming more and more like the entertainment and/or the politic business... :yuk:

linetraining.net scam

Hallo people,
regarding these "agency",i wrote to them asking info and they replied with a standard mail saying that they can't provide location, company etc.

So i went deeply inside this linetraining in "south Europe" and i found out where it is.
They use a TRTO in Tunise called ATCT,wich It's using Tunis air for linetraining.Basically you do the type with them and then you fly...and LLINETRAINING.NET?? as all these "agency" they are just charging extra money to the applicants just to be intermediaries!
Guys don't pay to fly,but if you have to do it than get information and don't let these "smart people" take advantage of you.

Here is the details

ATCT aviation
Cpt Abdelaziz Jebali

tel: +216 71911811
mob: +21698363022

Enjoy!

I have just received an email from Linetraining.net advertising the Ab-Initio ATPL EASA/FAA for 65kEUR.

Here you have the link:
Professional Pilot Career Course

Any info regarding this opportunity?

Best regards!

One of my close friends used these guys for A320 TR + 500 hours LT, I advised him against this as it's not good, but sure enough he was a late bloomer and only finished his training at the tender age of 43!

He is pretty well off having previously been in the upper management of a large hotel group, and later setting up and managing his own franchise, hence money really is of no object to him.

To cut a long story short, he was promised LT if he did the TR with them, after finishing TR he waited over 12 months just to start the procedure of being inducted in to the airline, this induction took a further 4 months to arrange training, uniform ID etc etc etc

After he started flying, captains apparently very rude and don't respect you, he said he only ever got to be PF with the TRE of the airline but mainly doing radios and paper work in cockpit etc.

500 hours took him 18 months to finish, airline constantly canceling flights on him and generally messing him about.

After 500 hours literally told that he's time was up and he left, till now he never flew again despite applying for countless jobs

Main red flags are
Exactly 500 hours A320
Jet job with just a bear CPL and no history
Only 750 hours TT

The type + LT + living expenses for 18 months cost him well over 100 large!

Cloabp 12th Aug 2014 23:13

Lately I've seen a couple of companies asking for time on type after linecheck or with linecheck passed. Maybe to avoid guys that paid to work on the type?

And no, I'm not against line training. Don't think it is good, but I understand the desire to move on and get some hours to get a real job.

pfvspnf 13th Aug 2014 15:22

18 months to do 500 hours with no job after ?!

Who runs this outfit ?

pfvspnf 13th Aug 2014 16:49

Well to be fair at least the line training was completed. However, I agree end result was a waste of time and money.

pfvspnf 13th Aug 2014 19:17

Let me be very clear , I think p2f is retarded! But I hate scammers and cheats more than the kids who want to pay their way through !
