Agreed, but a lot of people will read your post without asking themselves the right question: Which Type rating will get me a job. And it's not always a question of deliveries or orders, just look at how many 320 drivers are unemeployed in Europe. Some of them with a lot of time on type as well!!

PS: Getting a Jar25 rating on Dash will significantly lower the cost of your 2nd rating, be it 737 or 320. But nobody should pay for a rating after having paid a first one...

Thanks for all the replies guys! Very much appreciated and very helpful! For a company like Flybe the time to command in a Q400 is supposed to be much quicker than most other airlines. Either that or movement to the Embraers in the right hand seat (especially considering Flybe's potential slow replacement of the Q400 with the E175 fleet). What's your stance on having an Embraer TR and then being considered by airlines in the Middle East or Europe on 737/A320 fleet or bigger?

If you look at Qatar's minimum requirements it specifies jet and TP experience but nothing required the type. If five years down the line someone next to you has a 737 TR and you have the E195 TR, think this will make a BIG difference from anyone's experience?
