Sponsored or not sponsored Type ratings

Hi Guys,
The practice of paying for type ratings still sticks with most people and with good reason in my opinion. What if you could come to an arrangement to just pay a reduced percentage?

Say: If you were given a 3yr contract to fly for an operator (fixed term) and the operator paid 65% and you paid 35% out of your salary?

Just looking for feed back. Cheers all.

There are few options:
1. The one that most companies used to do is pay your TR and 100% comes out of your salary over 3-5 years
2.You pay your TR (100% cash) and start the job with the company doing your line training and base training without charging you and you get paid(no ties up)
3.Pay to fly - you pay your type rating and line training and some number of hours and at the end you get kicked out or maybe you might get given a chance to be employed.

4. You pay your TR (100% cash) and start the job with the company doing your line training and base training without charging you but you still get bonded for several years. True.

I very nearly forgot ... at another airline:

5. You pay your TR (100% cash) and start the job with the company doing your line training and base training without charging you but you still get bonded for several years backed by a substantial but refundable security deposit which is non-interest bearing (also true).

whatver you do, don't pay.

if they are interested by you, they pay for you, you work, and take money from your salary.

now most airlines are just interested by your money, P2F then you are OUT!!! they lurk you with stories like you will get a job after line training.liars!

just show up in an airline and ask them if they can take money from your paycheck...
I can tell you, they will not talk with you any further! all they want is to fill their pocket with illegal p2f until crash happen!:ugh:

6. You get asked to pay 15k for a rare TP rating on an a/c used by I think 2 or 3 other EU countries. Then being informed that only two of the four of you will be offered an immediate f/o position. The other two can apply elsewhere or wait to be recruited by said airline. :yuk:

Personally I'd rather pay for an A320 rating (if I was going down the sstr route) and if no joy comes out of it then decide on whether to buy hours or simply do an annual LPC to keep it current.

Oh by the way, the airline I mentioned above (UK based) then offers to pay you 22k per year for your efforts. So in year one you work for free after tax i.e. the same as PAY TO FLY... They can %~#* right off....
