(UK) Airline Sponsorships and Belgian degree's

Dear PPRuNer's,

I've been struggling with the fact of Airline Schemes and other ab-initio courses being so complicated when it comes to required degree's. The Belgian equivalent of the required degree is never to be spotted.

Due to the uncertainties about the degree valuation I find it hard to know if I'm eligible to certain Cadet Schemes (Such as the Easyjet MPL one recently, along with many other (future) schemes). Due to the fact I couldn't find ANYTHING about the eligibility of my Belgian degree as an equivalent to the required GSCE A-levels etc. Due to this I pretty much missed out on the Easyjet scheme as it was nearly closed and I wasn't in time to request further information about it or to even order airline tickets at a decent fare.

In order to avoid future problems concerning this matter I would like to know if anyone has more information about the eligibility of Belgian degrees to (average) Cadet schemes and other ab-initio courses?

The Belgian system is quite difficult, as each directions (Office-Languages, Latin-Science, Carmechanics, ..) have different hours on certain subjects, and miss out on certain ones such as Physics or Spanish etc. Depending on the direction you chose.

Can provide more information about my degree if required. I'm sorry if this thread is misplaced but I'm hoping to finally find the correct answer I'm looking for.

Kind regards

Don't worry too much about it. Just put "equivalent to GCSE's" and it should be OK. As long as you clarify this and have copies ready of your "rapporten" they have to accept it.

Might it not be a good suggestion to call the FTO running the scheme, ie OAA and discuss this? Even to do so now before schemes open and clarify your position beforehand?

Vlieger, in none of the "Technische richtingen" the subject Physics is taught. I did get physics 3 years ago tho. So if a scheme required a GCSE A-level in Physics I won't really be able to do much with my report cards I'm afraid. I guess I'll have to find out and see.

Hayleigh

I think we have been down this road in previous threads / posts you have made.

I am not sure that there is much more on this topic that can be covered here; you really just need to pick up the phone and ring the schools to establish whether or not your current qualifications are good enough.
