Unfortunate & Unemployed Need Help!

:ouch:HELLO FELLOWS!

Hi i'm pushkraj form INDIA . I have Airbus A320 & Embaer E170 type ratings. But no time on type. :bored:
I got my A320 rating as i was given a LOI from a company sayin I will be inucted after the course but tht thinig never happened. after that i joined Star Aviation in Chennai but even that didnt work out! But unlike A320 rating I didnt have to pay for my E170 rating.

Well for now I am unemployed and looking for a job!
:ugh:s

I have been thinking of doin line training so that i can get 300/500 hrs on type but thing is if i wait further 6-9 months my First company will induct me ( the one whch gave me LOI). But when i join them my pay will be less for quite some time!! :yuk:
Now if I do 300/500hrs on type i will be in a different bracket and will be able to recover my money soon! invested in line training program.:E

People I need your advice what ou think I should do? As i have ran out of ideas.... :ugh:
Would be glad if there are any institues other than "eagle JET" providing line training on A320.

I am type rated on ICAO DGCA indian & FAA license.

need help ....
thank you.
pushkraj

pushkraj 11th Aug 2010 21:00

HAHAHA!! :} i'm jus freaked out man with this situation!

BoeingDreamer 11th Aug 2010 21:08

What situation? What's your situation? 21 and want to walk straight into a shiny jet? :ugh:

Capetonian 11th Aug 2010 21:20

I don't wish to sound callous but let's keep this in perspective.

You are Indian, your country has a population of about 1.2 billion people, the majority of whom live below the 'breadline' without a proper roof over their heads, without adequate food, sanitation, or water. You are in the fortunate position of having had the advantage of an education, and I'm sure you worked hard, and you've achieved a rating on 2 different a/c types. So that puts you in the top, let's guess, 0.05% of the population of your country, and you're bleating about being 'unfortunate.'

Much as I respect, like, and admire Indians, there is one thing I detest, and that is the complete and utter disregard that the privileged have for those less fortunate.

Keep a sense of perspective. And good luck!

Capetonian

:D:D:D:ok::ok::ok: and more when the mods put them here (smileys).

Will continue with rant about baby pilots when the beer wears off, (flying industry owes them etc)
Cheers

You are in the top 0.05%!.WoW.

Grass strip basher 12th Aug 2010 03:11

Why are you unfortunate??? You paid for a type rating and are now paying the price of not ensuring a job was guaranteed at the other end.... you reap what you sow.... not unfortunate.... just stupid

Superpilot 12th Aug 2010 03:50

Excellent and frank answers above. I like them. If you think you're situation is bad in India, in the UK it's much worse where we pay for everything and it costs 10 x more to live here.

Even in Indian now, throwing money at this career and being of the elite has no bearing on how and when you get a job anymore. So sorry to say but at this point in time and with the current world economic environment no one's going to have any advice or pitty for you.

No one deserves a jet job at 21.

I couldn’t agree more with the above comments.

Nevertheless, what you are actually saying is - ive already been humped twice and am out of pocket for an a320 TR, but i am absolutely incapable of leaning from this experience, so am loosening my trousers as we speak and preparing (quite willingly, it appears) for a right good seeing-to at the hands of Eaglejet!

With an attitude like yours and a willingness to throw good money after bad I believe that you deserve everything you get, even if you are-

jus freaked out man

Why not get a normal job for a bit like the rest of the world? You may be surprised by the revelation that…(wait for it)…They pay you! It’s a cracking set-up, you’ll love it.

:D:D Capetonian,
Being an Indian could not agree with you more.We at times tend to forget how fortunate we are to have what we have and start bragging about little hardships of our lives!!(which in this case hardly a hardship at all!!).I am sure you have seen those who are struggling and fighting hard to avail even the most basic necessities of life from a very close angle.

Yes India, a country with a space programme, nuclear weapons, building aircraft carriers, and receives £1bn in foreign aid from the UK every year. And your moaning....

mason 13th Aug 2010 19:32

Captonian thats one of the best posts ive read on PPRUNE
you have put everything into perspective for everyone.
These sort of people always get there cume uppance in the end you reap what you sow.
Oh and todays King is tomorrows goat !

BitMoreRightRudder 14th Aug 2010 14:17

Well I think that is pretty conclusive pushkraj!

adverse-bump 14th Aug 2010 14:34

you have gotten everything you deserve! maybe you could get a job with a british company, theres loads of call centres in India!

Poeli 15th Aug 2010 07:53

Maybe you could have thought about this BEFORE you began your flight training?

If you have got the money go for it :) Don't listen to all the moaners on here. BTW their is an airline that i work for now in your neck of the woods that's hiring and paid for my type and line training - research ;) (don't pm me i won't tell you - sorry :oh:)

SloppyJoe 15th Aug 2010 12:22

If you are already hired by them why wont you let him know who it is? Strange.

MartinCh 15th Aug 2010 14:01

So, you had LOI, I presume 'I' means intent or interest. I'm not that current at the possible abbreviations. So you paid for A320 TR. No job after. What's the point of speculative TR without job contract? If you really have to pay up.

Care to mention why it possibly didn't 'work out' with Star after THEY PAID the E170 TR? Sounds strange to me, investing in you and then dumping you. There must be more to the story.

If you really consider paying for the FO seat, well, you don't deserve to be called professional pilot. The 'line training' has been the downfall of airline industry for flight crew it and it'd only get worse and worse.

Do you at least have FAA CFI certificate? Instructing in some neighbouring countries at least, better piston job than nothing. Or is that below your level?
