Pilot training

Hello Everyone,

this is my first post here, so please dont rip my head of if its in the wrong section of the forum =)

Since I am probably the furthest thing away from being a Professional Pilot I though someone might be able to help me out a bit.
For quite a while now I played with the though of becoming a commercial pilot. But since this is a whole new area for me I don't really now where I can apply for pilot training and so on.

I did read quite a few topics in this forum which really helped me out. Now I know that Etihad for example stopped there cadet pilot training program.

But I want to keep it simple here :) So my question is if anyone knows any websites preferably from a airline based in the middle east which trains pilots maybe even with a sponsorship and similar to theEtihad Airways Cadet Pilot Programm.

Hope someone can help me out
Poonky

Hey Poonky,
There's no airline in the middle east as of now that has any such programs but Cathay Pacific does. You have to clear 3 stages of interviews and they will train you for a year in Adelaide and after successful completion you are started of as a second officer with them.
There are various forums on here which will give you more information.
Hope this helps you,
Regards,
Rahul

Hi Rahulpereira,

thank you for your fast response :)
I am disappointed to hear that these kind of programs got stopped in the middle east.

Going to take a look at your succession now and lets see how it goes.

Have a nice evening

They still do these program in the Middle East but they are just for locals.

Yeah actually some of the airlines in the middle east have a cadet program only for the locals, so for people like us its the same as having no cadet program.

Also I've heard Luftansa has its own program and outsiders can apply provided you should be able to speak fluent German......

Morning Rahulpereira
this are great news. I never thought that Lufthansa had a cadet program with a sponsorship.
The language part is also no problem for me, as I am actually German and only moved to SA a couple of years ago.

But its really disappointing to hear that these programmes in the middle east are only for locals now. Do you guys think this will change in the near future(around 2011)?

Oh and is there already a thread on the Lufthansa Cadet program. I did search for it, but couldn't find anything on it. So if someone might know anything about it, could you please post a link on it. Thank you :ok:

My German's very rusty, perhaps you might have more luck reading here

Poonky 20th Jun 2010 12:09

Yep that is exactly what I have looked for, as Lufthansa would pay for my training if I get accepted. :)
If anyone else knows any other airlines who offer a similar trainings program could you please let me know about it.

Thank you
