hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me??...
i've been looking everywhere for sponsorphip to complete the training required to fly with an airline, and i have found nothing :mad::{
i was wondering if anyone has any info?

Have a look at the CTC Wings scheme (http://www.ctcaviation.com/wings/), and also the mentored schemes run by FTE (http://www.flighttrainingeurope.com/index.php) and OAT (http://www.oxfordaviation.net/), as well as the FlyBe scheme run by CCAT(http://www.ccat.org.uk/) once a year.

Have a look on their websites, as well as searching on here, to check out the details of the courses - especailly financing, as sponsorships are all but dead now - apart from schemes like Highland and Air Atlantique/Atlantic Airlines (I think) - I'd be more than happy to be corrected on any of this.

Sponsorship does not really exist anymore. There are a few schemes around that give you a conditional employent based on acceptable performance throughout your training but they generally tend to require similar financial arrangements up front to cover the liability so a sizable loan/ access to considerable funds is required. Oxford Aviation Training do a couple of schemes (NetJets, Thomas Cook and Excel) but these cost about £75k, Flight Training Europe have a couple of mentored schemes which again offer a very conditional training offer if you perform satisfactorily (GB Airways, Flybe) for about £65k and CTC Wings offer a cadet scheme that works in partnership with a number of airlines that puts you into a job on a reduced salary for a few years while the airline pays back your loan (British Airways, easyJet, First Choice, TUI Airlines, Thomas Cook, Monarch, Jet2) for £60k. Selection for all of these is tough and it gets pretty competitive.

There are a few other schemes around but your best bet is to use the search function - there are thousands of threads on here that will serve you well I am sure!

Have a look at http://www.highlandairways.co.uk - they offer a true sponsorship scheme that will get you all the way to an ATPL.

It costs you nothing but blood, sweat and tears - and a postage stamp for your application :8

But you need a PPL before you begin right? and ideally under 25 :rolleyes:

i have my ppl and gliders licence so i have some experience, but the cost for the training is just too much!!

i've had a look around but not much luck as, like you've said, sponsorships are no longer available really

i've looked at the cadetships but there isnt many of those available now either

any advice?

Why not go modular then? That way you can fly/train when funds allow. Sure, it may take longer than the Integrated route, that all depends on available cash! But the end result will still be an fATPL - and probably at half the price of some of these Integrated/Mentored schemes. As you have the PPL though, seriously consider the Highland scheme.

Contact Bristow group for helicopter sponsorship. Not sure what the story with Bond or CHC helicopters is, but worth a phone call....

You might want to investigate job opportunities and earnings as a helicopter pilot as I believe the scope to earn is not as good as fixed wing - particularly when you take into account the cost of the training.
