Scholarship

Hi all,

Can anyone please tell me which airlines are currently looking for new recruits for scholarships?

I started my PPL a year ago, but was unable to finish it due to my lack of funds! I have fantastic potential, and an amazing ability for flying (if i do say so myself). My ambition is to become a commercial airline pilot, like the majority of you.

Looking forward to any positive replies.

Hello there. In general there are very few scholarships around, if any. Various airlines recruit low hour people through various schemes, in recent history Thomson/ThomsonFly/Britannia and FlyBe amongst others. These are nearly all part 'sponsored' and other schemes like CTC wings are funded via a substantial bank loan. However you do it you will have to pay something, more likely all of the cost of your training.

My best advice would be to use the search function, lots of info hidden away on the forum.

I also have two predictions for you:

1. You will be shot down by someone over your comments about your potential and ability to fly (wouldn't mention that at an interview toungue in cheek or not;) )

2. Your link to your internet business on the other of your posts this evening will shortly be removed, because to be honest mate, advertising doesn't get much more blatant!:D Good luck with it though

This is the only fully sponsored one I've heard of, which is now closed.

Can I suggest you do a bit more research into this? Practically nobody offers scholarships anymore.

I am also pretty sure that most of us would like to think we have "fantastic potential, and an amazing ability for flying", but I don't think that kind of attitude will get you very far  but hey, what would I know, I'm not fantastic and amazing....

Thanks to his burning desire to display his superior entrepreneurship, SilverWings is now banned, so he won't care too much about your answers to his rather amusingly self-promoting post.

But Scroggs look at the positive vibe he inadvertantly created! I reckon you are fantastic and amazing too by the way.:D

Hello!

Just read the threads!

quite funny really.. i think that in the real world, not many people with his attitude stand a chance at a scholarship which dont exist anyway.. well just thought i would say hi to the peeps in this thread.. I was one of the extremely lucky few (and very, very fluky!) to get a sponsorship! so what sort of situations are you all in?
