Farnair urgent help needed
 

Hi fellow Ppruners.
I have an interview with Farnair next week in Basel.
The nice lady on the phone said that it would consist of Sim on Frasca, personal interview and a panel style interview.

Has anyone been trough the interview process with them recently?
Would like to know the inside scoop…
What type of question they ask?… what sort of tests if any etc??

Ps I have done a search but very little info on Farnair…

I cant help you with details about the general process but be aware that the Frasca sim in Basle (i assume they will use the one from Flugschule Basel which is located just around the corner of Farnair) ist very sensitive!. It can be loaded with Saab 340 speeds and has been used for all the former Crossair assessments. I you have a chance, try to get one hour in it beforehand - it will help you tremendously!

I have done some Frasca during initial training, but that was done 6 years ago, so I can say I'm rusty on the frasca. I was however in a ATR sim 3 months ago so maybe that will help somehow, all sims being sensitive..
Unfortunately no time or place to do the practice on the "sim" but I'm going to practice some approaches on flight sim.

Just be very, very gentle on the controls. A slight pitch change will create huge rates. If it get's tough to fly, control it with one hand only. Somehow i recall that they might use the following airports for the assessment: Basle (DME Arc), Stuttgart, Strasbourg and Luxembourg. Check the approaches and SID's. Take a look at the plates and how you would setup Nav's. You will be switching Navaids a lot if they use these airports. A couple years ago i talked to one of the flight instructors and he mentioned these airports - but might have changed.
