Hope that you are well....... Dont worry about the book , with a Frozen ATPL in your mits , McDonalds would never turn you down, and you should avoid the Litter Patrol and move straight onto Fries , plenty of stars for you...

Hope you and Mr S are ok, dont forget if you are ever flying together always carry some fruit based refreshment for the journey !!

I have both Handling the Big Jets and Ace Technical Pilot Interview. A combination of both will get you through the technical part of any interview.

HTBJ is the bible of interviews and an absolute must. However, it is pretty heavy going at times and probably not the book to be reading the day before an interview.

This is where the Ace Technical pilot interview comes in. It has lots of regularly asked questions along with answers and explanations. It's very easy to read and is fantastic for refreshing your knowledge with little snippets of info. BUT, it is no substitute for a good understanding of HTBJ.

The best thing to do would be to get hold of HTBJ read it understand it and then use the Ace book to re-inforce everything before the interview.

Try the guys at AOC4PILOTS in flight this week. HTBJ is what 20 years old. Claire filled me in on their one day course, and that will answer all your questions.Best of luck.

I've found the best book for tech interview prep in general to be the Trevor Thom 'Aerodynamics, Engines and Systems for the Professional Pilot'. A much more accessible read than HTBJ and much more up to date with regard to high-bypass fans etc, of course.

And 'Great Answers to Tough Interview Questions' is non airline specific, but it's got some really good strategies for answering all those bloody horrible personality based questions - 'what is your greatest weakness' and all that kind of agonizing stuff.
