sim check at gecat

Hi There,

I have a sim check with gecat coming up on the 757. Just got the call two days ago and with very little time to prepare was wondering if anyone has any info on this particular sim check please?

I think you will need to be more specific if you are wanting to know profiles for different companies etc etc.

It is through storm aviation. The contract is for type rating on a320 +500hrs with wizz air in poland/hungary. £26000 cost but expenses paid and £200/month living allowance

I attended a Gecat sim assesment a couple of weeks back...it was all pretty basic stuff.
They fully brief you before the sorte as to speeds/profiles etc.
The "ride" was a straight ahead dept..followed by a couple of steep turns..then into a hold (engine shutdown)...followed by a procedural ILS (2 eng) to land. A quick reposition for another T/o with V1 cut... all in 45 mins.....

Best of luck

I too have a sim ride this friday got the call this morning. Any one got any info on what to expect would be great.

celtflyer 4th Jul 2005 21:12

how long did you have to wait for a call, and is the sim check first or the apptitude tests??

pilotchap 4th Jul 2005 21:28

sim check first, i think have been told i need to allow 5 hrs for the tests.

Rizla2002 6th Jul 2005 21:22

Just a quick one...
Is it possible to get into this scheme(TR+500hrs) without passing through the middle man(in this case Storm Aviation)?
I have been thru the Gecat site but couldn t find anything about this scheme(perhaps di9dn t look very well...:O )...
thanks for any help....

There are airlines obviously open to the idea of taking cadets on for a contracted period or indeed a full time job. However the reason they take cadets from these agencies is that it will hopefully reduce costs on there end, thus eliminating the cost of having to screen applicants themselves and all assosiated costs. You will of course have to do an interview with the prospective airline but sim checks and apptitude / psycology testing etc etc is taken on by the TRTO. However it does seem that its not always the case, as gecat or storm will do the Majority of the screening the likes of eaglejet do not have any screening and put cadets forward to prospective airlines who will have to screen people themselves. Nothing is in stone so there is always different paths to take and its always worth an email directly to the airline prior to buying time through the like of eaglejet just in case!! Funningly enough both eaglejet and gecat have supplied pilots to the same operator in the uk and both on different deals obviously-one significantly cheaper then the other.

A Prostitute gets paid to get laid, they don't pay to get laid. I wouldn't mind getting laid and paid!

Hi there,

I need some info concerning the cadet scheme with Storm and the interview. I am waiting for the next course.
Regards

Rizla2002, you can\'t get into this scheme without passing through the middle man. I\'ve tried and I also talked to the CP of Wizz and they only take cadets from Storm. I\'ve tried because I am already rated on the A320 and I am looking for a line training of 500 hours on type (I am also waiting for Eaglejet).

Rizla2002 8th Jul 2005 00:39

Cheers ACP...that's the way I gotta go then....
Does anyone have any infos about the technical interview...like the stuff they may ask and so on...
pm's are well accepted....

the aviator1977 10th Jul 2005 17:41

Unfortunately I never got past the sim check, i'm still looking...
